Dark of the Moon The Score Available On iTunes

Transformers: Dark of the Moon The Score is now available on iTunes. It doesn't seem to be available yet at retail nor on Amazon. The album of 17 tracks costs $15.99 or $1.29 for each. Considering the high cost of the album I am wondering if iTunes was granted an exclusive sale period as normally a new soundtrack album would be in the $10 to $12 range. With the release is a look at the official cover for the album.

  1. Awesome score, as usual, but very different from the previous TF entries. ROTF was similar in tone and sound, this is harder, edgier, darker and aiming to be grander. A couple of the old themes come back like in "There Is No Plan" with a very sad rendition of "Arrival to Earth", mirroring it as it's used in the scene where the Autobots leave. All in all a perfect new addition to what became, without a doubt, one of the stronger and consistent high points of the trilogy, it's music. Kudos, Mr. Jablonsky.

  5. Bought it yesterday. Every Transformers score I bought from iTunes has always been extremely overpriced, so the price didn't come as a shock to me. However, I'm willing to pay extra to get my soundtrack. It's beautiful. I agree with LKoto about the sad "There is no Plan" mirroring the happier "Arrival to Earth". I loved the whole thing. I loved the Sentinal Prime track.

  7. Sentinel Prime and a good portion of It's Our Fight (used in the "Messenger" TV Spot) seemed to be the main themes in this score. Sentinel is here what Autobots and Prime were in the previous scores. Today i went and watched it in 3D (Awesome) and i noticed another thing wich sliped through yesterday. In the scene where the Decepticon forces level Chicago, the track used was "Heed Our Warning" from the ROTF score. The reason i'm saying this is that that track was not used in ROTF, so it may be said that ROTF tracklists now go down to 16 tracks and DOTM gets 18. As for reused music... not really. Yes they used themes from previous scores but not the same tracks. They're reorquestrated and re-edited. Examples are Prime (or more to the point "Don't Give Up") in the opening scene on Cybertron, Arrival to Earth on the Autobots regroup scene and the "Optimus Hero" section of "You're a Soldier Now" when Optimus kills the Dweller/Driller thing. As for the trailers, the teatrical trailer used "Thorgasm" and "Prelude",as previously identified, but a few TV spots used cues from the score, mostly from "Battle" and "It's Our Fight".
