Hasbro Denies Disney Purchase Rumors
It seems that Wall Street caught up to Monday's rumors that Disney was considering bidding on Hasbro. The result was a 6.5% spike (+$1.62) on Hasbro stock the following Tuesday. Now the Providence Journal is reporting that Hasbro source say "absolutely nothing going on that they are aware of at all, in any way, shape or form." In addition, Wall Street analysts believe that if such a deal were to occur Hasbro would first have to end all its movie agreements with the other competing studios.

When deals like this happen, the studios do tend to play nice and allow any films in development to still be released by the original studio. Sometimes they simply make a deal where one studio handles distribution, while the other handles production.
ReplyDeleteThis has nothing to do with the movies. The movie rights are i hands of Paramount, not Hasbro.
DeleteThis only concerns the merchandise and boardgames and such.
