MichaelBay.com has confirmed that the green military vehicle spotted on Transformers 4 Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park set is Hound. The vehicle is "The always rugged and reliable Hound, one of the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles from Oshkosh Defense. High resolution photo: http://bayhem.com/16wz8Oj." In Generation One, Hound's alt mode was a military jeep but over the years he has varied from jeep to truck while maintaining his military green color scheme. One constant of the character is his should missile. Will his robot mode have it too? Thanks to The Chad and Wynton R for the heads-up.Update: Much like Pixel Rally's Jeffrey Marshall did with Optimus Prime, below is a modified look at Hound that really makes the vehicle look good.

ReplyDeleteWill he have missiles? That truck is an M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) - i.e., a rocket artillery system. So, yeah.

ReplyDeleteHe cant be bigger than Prime. Hound was a scout like Bumble Bee. Why does Bay feel like he needs to reinvent the wheel? He has a ridiculous amount of characters he could use from the G1 line up. I want to see Prowl, Powerglide, Warpath, Seaspray, Wheeljack, Brawn, Windcharger.... PLEASE DONT START MAKING UP YOUR OWN CHARACTERS like in the last movie.... like Dino and Que. I go to these movies because I want to see my childhood cartoons come to life on the big screen. DONT SCREW IT UP. if you need help with characters go here

Totally agree with you there. Unless they want to bring these new movies to the 5 year olds of today who watches transformers Prime. Most of us who grew up in the 80's would preferred the good old G1 characters.. watching these new characters doesn't feel the same. True transformers fans cant replace the originals.

ReplyDeleteYou cant put Dinobots into the movie, you will see the character names but not the dinosaur modes. I could see the Aerialbots or the Protectobots worked in. But I am sure Bay will make up his own characters.

ReplyDeleteHope Bay listens to us all and sticks to G1, and maybe a few G2 Transformers Characters - the newer series are ridiculous and do nothing for the franchise or older fans.
Would love to see Sideswipes twin Sunstreaker (same Alt. Mode as his brother but in Gold/Yellow), Bluestreak, Blurr, Ultra Magnus etc. There are many of us who want to see our Childhood characters on the big screen again.

ReplyDeleteI am one of the few who grew up watching the original G1 and G2 series growing up and for 28 years I have been an avid fan (being in my early 30's has some advantages), I am now teaching my Youngling's (I have three children folks all middle school age) about the world that is Transfomers - they each have their fav's like I do.
Please listen to us hard core fans, Bay and pay attention to what is being said. I may live in the middle of no-where Northern Michigan, but I have a feeling that much will happen here soon.
