I Do Not Apologize For Any Transformers Movies
It is a drag talking to reporters on sets. Why? Because often times they take your words and skew things to their liking. Then the crazy, lazy game of reporting on what other writers story’s reported me saying and suddenly it becomes skewed Internet truth. So I waste my time to restate exactly what I did say, again.
No I did not ‘apologize’ for any Transformers movies. I did not say I shot the last three movies “less cool” than the new fourth installment. I was talking specifically about camera style and tone, of the first movie compared to how I shot the new installment with a very big scale, cinematic style. I was very specific in saying the first Transformers was shot in a ‘generic suburbia’ area, not trying to be cool with any cinematic flashes. I wanted it to feel like this could happen in any backyard in the United States.
So that brings me to letting Transformers fans know that we have completed our five and half month shoot. We got back from a month long shoot in China. My crew and I had a fantastic time shooting in Hong Kong and Mainland China. It was an amazing experience, and I love the country. My cast was absolutely fantastic, and a very fun group to work with. We are working hard cutting the movie right now. I think the first piece comes out for the Super Bowl and a teaser right after that.
And yes, I’m very excited about this new movie.

Bay Doesn't Apologize for Transformers, Confirms Super Bowl Trailer
After a long absence, Michael Bay took to his official website to post a response to recent articles covering his comments about Transformers: Age of Extinction. Apparently he didn't like what was written. My best guess is he is referring to the recent Yahoo article where he suggested the difference between TF4 and previous entries is it will have less goofiness and appear more cinematic. Personally I just thought it was a typical sequel question with an expected "raise the stakes" type answer with nothing negative intended by his responses. My best guess is the more mainstream movie sites decided to go the other way on interpreting his answers. Any way from a fan perspective the key piece of news is he officially confirms the first trailer for the movie will arrive for the Super Bowl on February 2, 2014.

DeleteDudemus:are you serious. First Sunday of Febuary.
DeleteIts on February bro
DeleteSuperbowl is on Feb.2nd
ReplyDeleteHe is not releasing a 2:30 long trailer on superbowl sunday. He is releasing a :30 sec tv spot. he will probably do the same thing he did with revenge of the fallen. release a tv spot during the game and the actual 2:30 trailer a week or two later. so dont expect an actual trailer to be released on that day.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, maybe a 1:00 trailer with the Super Bowl, but definitly not a full theatrical trailer.
DeleteI'm still expecting/hoping a teaser trailer this month, just like they did with DOTM the gold Sentinal teaser/trailer.
Super bowl adds are only 30 seconds
DeleteNo, that's not true. A filmstudio can buy seconds for advertisement. They can show a 1:00 trailer.
DeleteWhat was the going rate this year, $4 million per 30 seconds? I believe there were 1:00 advertisments before during a Super Bowl. So it doesn't matter if the 30 seconds spot is shown 4 times, or if the 1:00 trailer is shown 2 times.
now that production is done when will bay release tha real names of the transformers
ReplyDeleteI think never, I think Bay wants us to know the names, by the time when we see the movie in theatres.
DeleteI think the first thing we here of official names, is when the first photo's of the official toys get online.
hey josh tonyformer ironhide no news yet
ReplyDeleteMartinus not gonna be more than 30 secs you know it and everyone else knows it...studios not gonna pay for more
