First Look at Transformers: Age of Extinction Drift?

An image posted on Facebook from the Party City Halloween 2014 catalog shows what might be a look at Transformers: Age of Extinction Drift. Assuming this isn't a fan fake-out (and its Super NES look makes me wonder), the costume gives an idea on the direction of the movie version with the swords and samurai look. It seems the only thing that really is carrying over from IDW's original version is the swords and the name. (via Seibertron)

  2. OK... NOW I'M P!SSED!!!!!!! I'm not a "Bay Basher" and I'm not critical in-general of any of the Transformer movies. Yes, there was significant room to improve on all of them, especially the 2nd one, but I was happy and grateful nonetheless with having them. BUUUUT... this movies is different!!! Bay has know had three movies to perfect his "all-around" Transformer skills... and my expectations are super high this time... regarding both story script and overall visual experience (that's a big umbrella).

SO... POINT BEING... I'll be very upset if this is how DRIFT turns out looking in the film. Yes, I have read and taken into consideration many of your theories of how a Transformer can look like a Samurai... It's just not enough for me. Call it what you will, but I just don't want to see any Transformers looking like Tom Cruise in The Last Samurai... D@MN...

    1. Apexformer: Dude, Drift has always been a samurai. He's a former decepticon that came across the Crystal City in his travels. He learned the teachings and discipline of the ancient cybertonians from Wing and Dai Atlas. If anything I'm happy that the "Bay-Verse" has decided to actually keep some of the character's established back story.

  3. I'm not feeling the new look Optimus, although the on screen Optimus will look better than the toy(I hope) and I'm not feeling the way Drift looks, I have a bad feeling this movie is just going to disappoint....I hope I'm wrong!!!!

  12. Everyone, remember that it's only a halloween costume. Drift's appearance on screen might be slightly different.

  13. We don't know if this is real, as there's no OFFICIAL confirmation. If it is, it's interesting to me how so many are all up in arms ,especially since the concept of transforming robots comes from Asia ( Japan, to be exact) in the first place.

    1. who cares that they come from asia and japan these are supose to be robots from outter space not huge fkn samuri rip off i mean hell in robot from they dont really look like the transform into anything like the previous films where you could see the car parts and shit..cheap water down rip off of Bludgeon and rest of the bots are water down versions of TFP..so i guess they are gonna throw out their guns and throw massive ninja stars and arrows lmao they are turning this into a cheap ass comedy hell this should be the parody version of TF4

    2. You can talk when you have seen it. Transformers. They can look like anything. Some have been using swords with no complaints.Drift for one had samurish roots from the beginning. It's not that far of a stretch....

  14. I kind of like it (if it's real) curious as to what the toy/cgi version looks like though

  15. IF this is real, I'm not really too crazy about it. I don't hate it but I don't love it either. I'm kind of hoping this is fanmade and that Drift has the winged head mold.

Not a big fan. I mean it looks alright but not great. Waiting (if it's real) to see how it looks in cgi. The costumes usually look pretty crappy anyways.

  17. It looks more like a decepticon then autobot.he looks cool but like holly shit cool, but yet again he is suppose to be a samurai so I'm kinda okay with the look.

  18. Guys...if you look at the halloween costumes of Bumblebee and Prime on websites like partycity.com, they look incredibly goofy. Lets just wait for the CGI rendition to come out. Im interested to see everyones reaction after the superbowl trailer comes out. Im sure Bay is going to sprinkle some awesome images to tease us a little. Remember the DOTM trailer.... this site was blowing up about the scene when Prime goes on a rampage, killing all Decepticons in his path...lets just wait and see before passing judgment from toys and costumes.
