Transformers Trilogy Transformations Supercut

Below is a video that combines all the transformations from the first three Transformers movies. Just the transformations (and Megan Fox whose face technically transformed too between movies) and nothing else. Bit surprised it was able to reach ten minutes length since actual transformations became less frequent with each movie. The scenes are in no particular order but one thing of note is how the first movie's transformations sequences seem just more thought out and designed compared with the last two movies where they were essentially random moving parts that had very little to do with the alt mode switching too. Not something I noticed (much) while watching the movies but seeing it combined like this, it stands out more. If anything, gives more credence to Hasbro's "simplication" goals for the toys as now wondering if the CGI versions would benefit from it. (via Gizmodo)

  1. I agree, the transformations in the first movie were the best of all three period and the CGI was way better than all three as well.

  2. @Anonymous 2/04/2014 6:48 AM: the best CGI by ILM on Transformers movies so far has been on Transformers2. Everything is way more detailed than on the first movie.

  3. There is no comparison, the first movie has the best transformations by far. Revenge of the fallen has a few decent ones I think though, but that's about it.

  4. I don't remember Laserbeak turning into a pink Bumblebee. Was that a deleted scene?

    1. No it was in there when he was going to kill all the people who knew the info for Megatron. It's right after Megatron gives him the order when him Soundwave, Megatron, Starscream are in the African desert

  5. The first transformers movie had more detail in its transformation than the other two movies.

  6. That was the problem I had with DOTM, there was no cool transformation moments in that movie....the highway scene, Optimus's run in with Shockwave, Dino holding off the guards at the road block & lastly Optimus flying in and killing all those Cons all those scenes seemed rushed and were shot too close up or tight.
The only cool scene was the wing suit jump!

  7. Lol you people are crazy. The 3rd movie transformations were far more fluid and real looking. Way better than the first. The transformations got better with every movie.

  8. There's no pleasing anyone is there? People (fans) complained about the camera not being steady during the transformations in the first movie and now Bay does more wide angle shots and you say it's boring? Just seeing live action transformers transforming period is the coolest thing!

  9. I love all the movies, but I just think the first movie had the best CGI and the best transformations. That's just my opinion, I think what ever you like is cool

  10. @Anonymous2/04/2014 4:57 PM: the first Transformers movie CGI is lower quality compared to the second movie. ILM upgraded software and resolution for Transformers2 and designed many new algorithms for never seen before action scenes and effects. Transformers3 was a lazy re-use of previous 3D models with some tweaks here and there, little changes, nothing revolutionary, no long action scenes and fights either. The CGI rendering got worse instead of better with Transformers3. In the order the best CGI is on Transformers2 then Transformers.. with Transformers3 a quite generic work for ILM.

That's not a deleted scene - it's in DOTM when Laserbeak infiltrates a Scientist's house (who's having a birthday party for his child) to kill him, just like Mr. Wang in the office tower.

  12. I'm not sure the transformations in the first movie were any less complicated that those of the later films, I just think they're better, more dynamic shots. The shot at the climax where Optimus arrives in the city and tranforms into a robot is still, IMO, his best transformation of the series.

    1. You mean the transformation scenes were better but the quality and detail of the transformations weren't better at all. 2 and 3 had 1 beat in that regard.

  13. ROTF was the worst movie of all 3 but the CGI was dam good, but the first movie had the best CGI of all of the movies hands down

  14. lol i feel like ppl didnt watch the 2nd and 3rd movie properly.... all movies had amazing mind-blowing transformations

  15. Hey ! There's no Skids & Mudflap transformation...

  16. I don't think it's so much that the transformation were more thought as it is that they got quicker. The first movie the transformations were slower so we could actually see how they fit together. The second two they started speeding to more accurately replicate how they did in the cartoons. In the cartoons they went from vehicle to robot in a split second.

  17. Look at the Transformation at 2:40 that alone had anything the 1st movie did beat. Look at the effects on that.

  19. Random

I was watching DOTM tonight and I never noticed that Barricade is in it for just a second towards the end. He gets his eyes shot out.

  21. Tfcollect:I just received the premium Optimus Prime 2/6/14 am I impressed?...not hardly. However the truck mode is superb I give it that but the robot mode is not so desirable. The chrome piping however in hand is pretty nice but the over all look just doesn't cut it for me. Its extremely light weight and the worst part is, his hands are stationary absolutely no articulation. The back kibble imo couldve been more creativity within it but the kibble behind the feet is a monstrosity...now the transformation, yes it is simplistic, unfortunately its a little too simplistic to the point imo that kids will grown bored rather quickly after a few tries. Now again, the truck mode is great its huge and the creases fit really tight so much so that it doesn't look like it transforms at all. The scale is excellent these truck are large I just hope Hasbro doesn't go DOTM size with the voyagers and deluxe classes. Reason is they would look awkward. The flamse paint apps, couldve been penned around the flames I mean with the $60 price tag that shouldve been a priority...would I suggest to anyone to purchase this piece?...well that depends. Yes, if your a collector who just wants a complete series. Yes, if your buying it for your child. No, if you like detail and creativity in your movie version of transformers. So that's my take. Nice display piece in truck mode:10. Robot mode:3. Transformation:5...see ya.

    1. Hands aren't poseable?...so there would be no add-on robots hands for this one, huh? That sucks. I guess hasbro doesn't want third party toy makers to get any money off of this one.

  22. This has to be the most boring news following out of all the movies so far. I remember during the other 3 we had concept art and a lot of other stuff to talk about months before the release. They got this one really under wraps.

    1. And this: but I guess it's necessary that Optimus and Bumblebee have their original robot modes in Marmon truck and 67 Camaro modes, but they'll receive new robot modes along with new alternate modes.

  26. I love TRANSFORMERS PERIOD!,I dont dont care if Micheal Bay make changes,if everything was made to be the same, these movie's would lack creativity.Im a fan no matter how they look, talk,or transform. As long as it's Prime in it,im ok wit that!To experience how the World world be with real live no cartooney Transformers,is amazing and I am satisfied n happy to watch every movie again n again.People fail 2 realize Micheal Bay does his best 2 film these movies for us,Revenge of the fallen was made when the film industry was going through a financial crisis n producers n writers was on strike, but he still made it happen for us the fans,n I thank hin for that ROLL OUT!
