Transformers 4 Toys Designers Desk Video

Hasbro has posted a new video on their YouTube page that discusses the design of the Transformers: Age of Extinction toys with designers John Warden and Bill Paukert. It gives a broad overview of the process probably year long process that ends with the toys on the shelf. Maybe one of these days, perhaps as an extra on the home video release (hint, hint), Hasbro might provide an almost documentary type video that follows a Transformers toy from concept to shelf.

  2. I want Hasbro to put the complicated and difficult transformations to the transformers age of extinction toys. They are the live action movie toys so they have to have complicated transformations and because of all you people complaining about how hard a transformation is first think about it, because now we have simple transformations that make the toys look like, they belong to little kids not collectors.I was actually happy getting frustrated at the transformers movie toys.It is so much fun trying to figure out what parts go where to make it into robot mode or their alt modes.

  4. I just got the leader class optimus and I'm returning it, the instructions are one way and opposite the mode it comes in. And the kibble is way worse in person, I seen the bumblebee in the store and it's horrible. These guys are making shit, they might as well just make action figures that are movie replicas and don't transform, they should be embarrassed

  5. Dudemus: ok, guys. Here's the deal. Please forgive them they are only doing what they are told, they do not have the final say. Not many are too happy. The inhibits may very well be the best figures from the series by far. Most of the concept had come from beast hunters so it shouldn't surprise you the least. Now getting to the thick of it. This is exactly what happens to corporations who put too much emphasis on the slogan "The customer is always right"....many have complained a out the ROTF series of figures so much so Hasbro had its hands forced. And this is the end result. I'm not taking Hasbro side. I have my own opinions to the direction they had chosen to take. But I understand. Unfortunately, in my years of marketing experience I've seen many courses of actions going terribly wrong and in the end you'll find yourself only making what you spent on production (DOTM)...I certainly do not see a light at the end of this tunnel. Now,this is just an Opinion. Based on a professional point of view. But again. I could be wrong. Sadly, if I was wrong often, I wouldn't have a job in major marketing. Just saying.

  8. Tfcollect: this guy said ; from tf1 to three, you've seen progression in stages. In the movie yes, the toys,no. We've seen a progression from movie 1 to movie 2, after ROTF. The action figures took a nose dive. Now I must be honest there were a few really good figure that had come out of that series dark of the moon, but they were the one that weren't released in the US. These two nut jobs can act. Really good actors if you ask me. I think this video is a desperate attempt to sell us junk and call it Picasso. I'm not buying it. The dinobots. Ok, I get it. Nothing but Tfprime upgrades. Who are they fooling. They forgot that there is another video that can out years ago where the concept designer had showed how they take pieces and parts of other transformers to get a general idea on how to go about the transformation concept. These two are in total contradiction from Hasbro earlier video. Enough, forgive me for my ranting. I'm just wondering when is this company going to get it right?

  9. Hate on a movie toyline (didn't see that coming), passing off opinion as fact. Boring. Dull. Trite, Unoriginal. Yawn.

  10. I have a question, not re guarding TF4. I was wondering has anyone ever came up with a idea of creating an extreme auto bot combiner? Using 10 of the auto bots to make this combiner? For instance Optimus Prime an 10-14 inch bot turn it into its head, then using Ultra Mangus 14-16 inches for upper body, the Over lord for the lower body.Jetfire 12-14 inches, as the left arm,Wing Saber 12-14 inches for the right arm Ironhide 14-16 inches for the left leg,Bulkhead 14-16 inches for the right leg.Now for the weapons Red alert 8-10 inches for the small gun,Springer 12-14 inches as the larger blaster cannon laser gun, and finally Broadside 8-12 inches as the sword. The cost per bot would be roughly 20-40 bucks each. The plus could be using in TF5 or TF6 something as Reborn bots theme. Yes there would have to be cons extreme too, haven't though about which ones to use but Shock wave and Soundwave so far is in my plans....Let me know what you guys think Thanks
