Peter Cullen and Frank Welker should need no introduction but if they do hit the links above. Especially for Frank Welker whose voice has been an essential part childhood memories for around the last 50 years or so. As for John Goodman, yep that is the big man himself who most recently reprised the voice of Sullivan in Monsters University. Ken Watanabe is not nearly as famous in the US as he should be but the rest of the world is familiar with him for his decades long career and will show up in Godzilla next week. John Dimaggio is quickly becoming this generations Frank Welker as he seems to voicing everything under the sun including Bender from Futurama. Mark Ryan recently was on the small screen in the Michael Bay produced Black Sails TV series and voice Bumblebee and Jetfire in previous Transformers films. No mention of 'Bee is made so no telling if the character has his voice back or not. Thanks to everyone that provided a heads-up.

    1. I never imagined that so well-known actors would voice Hound and Drift. But if Frank Welker who voiced Galvatron in G1 seasons 3 and 4 will reprise that role, I hope he uses different voice like he did with movie and TF:Prime versions of Soundwave.

    2. So you dont want him to say anything?

    3. Of course I want. But Welker used a different tone for Soundwave in movies and TF:Prime than he used in G1. I'm just saying his Galvatron voice in movie should be different from G1 voice as well.

  2. Welker did not use a different voice for soundwave; it is the same in the movie as it is in the 80's cartoon. In the 80's cartoon, a vocoder was used to get the voice to sound the way it did.

  3. Whatever. But Galvatron's voice is better be different from G1 voice. By the way, I don't think we know all voice actors yet. Some of us remember mentioning of one robot speaking only Mandarin Chinese. I don't see any of those characters-we-already-know-voiced being that robot. It can't be Drift, because samurais are Japanese and Watanabe is Japanese.

    3. Frank Welker is not bad actor. I just didnt like his voice for G1 Galvatron. It wasnt same as G1 Megatron voice. But if this conversation is going into a direction like this, I want to stop it.

    4. One more thing: The Transformers and TF: Prime Were cartoons and 80s Cartoon Were always more for children than the modern ones. And live-action movies are even darker. It's definitely good to have same voice actor in more than one series, but each series has different style so voice tone and vocoding must suit in different ways to each of them. That's All. No more things.

    5. Of course Galvatron had a different voice, he went nuts after being lost on that lava planet, his voice reflected that.

  4. Maybe we'll get G1 megatron voice in galvatron body. I doubt it but I can dream can't I?

    1. Well, TF:Prime Megatron voice wasn't different. And that was good.

    2. I guess the Dinobots don't talk and Stinger doesn't either. Also, we only have 3 decepticons and all these autobots? I hope they don't throw a bunch of no names in there. I rather them just kept the groups small and establish the characters instead of 1 lines here and there. They didn't change writers so it's going to still be like the other films. I wish they would have got a new writer so we could have truly got a new feel to this trilogy.

  6. Damn, I was hoping we'd see Greg Berger's name for the voice of Grimlock. Oh, well. At least Welker is Galvatron.

    1. I've said this once before: we might have not heard the names of ALL voice actors yet. Just most of them.

    2. I doubt the Dino boys talk.

    3. *Dinobots

  7. Soooo... Hound is voiced by Fred Flintstone...... yeah it could work...

    1. Sully is voicing Hound, more appropriate compared to a movie that nobody gave a shit about, you literally picked the worst movie Goodman was in, he's a fantastic voice over and choice for this role

    2. Agreed. I think Goodman will do an absolutely brilliant job. He's more talented than a lot of today's actors.

    3. Flintstones was awesome! you tripping.

    6. ......your mama lol, sounds like your still in yours, makes no sense, whatever man your entitled to an opinion, I just found it funny you'd chose a start out movie to define a guy 20 years later has quite the resume, sounds like a disapproval and I wasn't gonna let it fly, he seems absolutely perfect for the role

  8. Prime looks soo OP

  9. Welker's on record saying he didn't much like G1 Galvatron, so I don't think he'd be opposed to changing the voice.

  10. I've got a little something for you guys...
Anybody else notice that Stinger is always listed on the toy packs as Decepticon Stinger, and Drift has been listed every time as Autobot Drift? But only those two, nobody else is listed with their faction. Hmmm....

    ReplyDelete

    1. Because their names are very short.

      Delete
    2. Probably has to do with trademarking laws. I don't think they can trademark short common words like "jazz" (hence "Autobot Jazz").

      Delete
  11. I like how stinger is pretty much a red twin of bumblebee, and we all know there was a red twin back in the day.....how badass it would have been to see CJ instead of a human made replica, he better be worth it

  12. So Bumblebee again after 4 movies won't speak ? This is getting stupid.

    1. They need to bring in Will Friedle to do his voice. I understood that they didn't cast anyone to play him, because they couldn't find an appropriate voice for him that would please the fans

    2. In the first movie, I mean they did the no-talk bullcrap, because....

    3. He talks through the RADIO he don't need a voice

      Delete
  13. Bumbler talks through the radio which is his unique trademark and is pretty damn creative, if he got a voice now it would just be weird, using lines from famous movies and tv show to communicate is one of the coolest things this movieverse started, so don't hold your breath
