Empire Article on Cogman's Voice, Merlin, and the Writers' Room.
In the latest issue of Empire magazine, they interview Transformers: The Last Knight director Michael Bay who discussed the writer's room and also got a little information on the future of the franchise. Most of it we already knew (more or less) but they did confirm two tidbits including the voice of Cogman. You can read scans of the entire article here.
- Part of reason for Transformers writers' room was Bay didn't want to "grind on another script and do another one-off" while producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said "We were feeling the need for more robust storytelling and weren't feeling we were getting it from the one-off process."
- Writers room was "A candy shot for a Transformers junkie" with TVs playing the movies and cartoons, movie props, and 10,000 pieces of TF art that included two days of "Transformers school" to go over the franchise history both actual and fictional.
- During room meets Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) latched onto idea set in 5th century and King Arthur while Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man) liked idea of Transformers and WWI. The final story is three of the treatments merged together.
- Jim Carter (Downton Abbey), at the recommendation of Holloway, is voicing the "psychotic robot butler" that Spielberg considers "the greatest four-and-a half-foot character since Yoda."
- Santiago Cabrera is also playing Merlin. Film opens with a drunk Merlin during a massive 5th century battle that involves Transformers.
- The Bumblebee movie is based on a treatment by Christina Hodson and directed by Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings) set in the 1980s and will be tonally for younger crown.
- The animated origin myth of the Transformers is still planned as written by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari (Ant-Man).
- Another treatment under consideration is one set in Ancient Rome (so that means 6/12 treatments potentially leading directly to movies so far).

Bumblebee Movie Logo, Bay's Star, Profile, and Real-Life Transformer
Here are a few odds and ends picked up over the last few days regarding the Transformers movies or inspired by them. None of them reveal anything story specific about Transformers: The Last Knight, just images and the like that you might find interesting.
- The Last Knight's world premiere is on Sunday, June 18th at Leicester Square, London.
- Below is the first "official" picture in relation to the upcoming Bumblebee movie. Not sure if "Transformers Universe: Bumblebee" is the final title but I assume its currently a placeholder. The image itself looks like it was taken from a previous movie poster (blanking on which one). Top left pic is the logo that will be used for the film.
- Also below is personnel profile for the Transformers Reaction Force (TRF) Commander Santos (Santiago Cabrera) who helps hunt down Transformers regardless of faction.
- The last picture is a new theater standee of evil Prime vs Bumblebee.
- Michael Bay received his Hollywood Walk of Fame Star on Monday. I thought he already had one. Video here.
- Inspired by the movies, below is a real-life Transformer in the Generation One style. A father and son team in Russia remade an old BAZ-2110 Lada into TF that goes from working car to gun shooting robot (not clear if real bullets or blanks).

Transformers: The Last Knight International Trailer
Below is the new international trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight. It includes a lot of new scenes mixed with what we have seen in TV and previous trailers. Also apparently Bumblebee is immortal? Very strange sequence that does not match any previous Transformers behavior (unless sort of count Ultra Magus from the 1986 animated movie). Thanks to Feris O. for the link.

WWII Bumblebee Poster and More Transformers Secret History Images
The Transformers twitter account was busy today with a few images to promote Transformers: The Last Knight. A new poster shows a World War II version of Bumblebee fighting Nazi's (as seen in the recent TV spot) while other images show Transformers interacting with humans during other historic events. Images below.

Two Sample Tracks from Transformers: The Last Knight Score
The (I assume) official Steve Jablonsky YouTube channel has posted the two below score samples for Transformers: The Last Knight. No titles, probably to avoid hinting at plot points. The score itself isn't getting a physical CD release but supposed to become available to digital purchase sometime around the film's release.
New Transformers: The Last Knight Poster
A new poster has been released for Transformers: The Last Knight that shows one of the new characters for the film called Steelbane (I think). Thanks to Feris O. for the heads-up.

Transformers: The Last Knight MTV Movie Awards Clip
Below is the Transformers: The Last Knight clip that was shown during the MTV Movie and TV Awards. The clip involves Cogman firing on Bumblebee and Mark Walhberg before being stopped by Anthony Hopkins. While the two talk Hot Rod shows up with Laura Haddock that apparently he kidnapped. The quality is so-so and will swap it out once find an HD version.
Optimus Prime's Dialogue Coach Video
Below is a short and cute video that has Optimus Prime practicing his lines outside the studio with a dialogue coach. I assume this clip may air with the MTV Movie Awards tonight along with a new TV spot or clip from the movie. Thanks to Feris O. for the heads-up.

TF5 Optimus Prime with Bumblebee Parts?
An advertisement standee found at a Toys R Us to promote the soon to be released toy line potentially reveals a plot twist from Transformers: The Last Knight. If check out Optimus Prime, it seems he is sporting Bumblebee yellow in his arms and legs along with a very Bumblebee like torso piece.
It could mean nothing, as its equally likely Hasbro decided to add some yellow to Prime's existing CGI image to help promote the Mission to Cybertron line. Since a Bumblebee prequel movie is on the horizon, I just don't see Hasbro killing the character as clearly they consider him to be nearly as important as Prime.

New Transformers: The Last Knight Poster
In a twitter post teasing Transformers: The Last Knight footage at Sunday's MTV Movie Awards, director Michael Bay revealed a new poster that shows Nemesis Prime (unofficial, just a short hand for "evil Prime") dominating Bumblebee. As for the tweet he wrote
"For one world to live, the other must die." See more of #Transformers during the #MTVAwards this Sunday."This could indicate a clip from the movie or a new TV spot. The MTV Movie & TV Awards will air live this Sunday starting at 8PM ET.
