Transformers: War for Cybertron Kingdom Available Now On Netflix

Friendly reminder that Transformers: War for Cybertron - Kingdom is now out on Netflix in the United States and I assume elsewhere in the world.  The six episodes will conclude the War for Cybertron trilogy as the Autobots and Decepticons meet their Beast Wars counterparts on ancient earth.  The toy line is also reaching its conclusion so will be interesting to see what Hasbro plans next.

Transformers: The Movie Returns To Theaters for 35h Anniversary

I remember way back when watching Transformers: The Movie in a near empty theater in the afternoon after forcing my mom to drop me off (she refused to watch it and went shopping).  Hard to believe its been 35 years from that moment (yep feeling old right now).  Fathom Events has announced a chance to hit those nostalgia buttons again with the movie returning to theaters for 2 days.

The Transformers: The Movie 35th Anniversary event will hit theaters on Sunday, September 26 at noon and Tuesday, September 28 at 7:00pm (local time) in the States. Prices will vary and should be available soon here.  Fathom previousily did this 5 years ago for the 30th Anniversary of the movie.

Usually these Fathom Events movies have a little extra that appears before the movie, chances are will get the same here.  A 35th Anniversary Hasbro Pulse announcement (which I bet will include more 86 toys) will be held on Friday, August 13 at 11 a.m. ET to provide more details.

Best Look Yet At Optimus Prime Alt Mode for Transformers 7

Thanks to French account for Transformers, @transformersfr, we have the best look yet at the alt mode of Optimus Prime. As you can see in the images below, the look really captures the G1 look of Optimus Prime in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

A even closer pic of Prime can be found here. Also a look at TF7 Base Camp (term for where production is headquartered with all their stuff, people, etc for a location shoot) is here. I am looking forward to eventually seeing what the robot mode will look like. Thanks to Quinn for the links.

Optimus Prime Truck Arrives on Transformers 7 Set

Filming continues on the Montreal, Canada set of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts which gave us a look at Mirage-Jazz and Bumblebee. Now we have a good look at Optimus Prime's G1 inspired truck alt mode thanks once again to Montreal Car Spotting Facebook group.  For a videos of Prime and 'Bee click here. In addition it seems there will be a scene involving a homeless camp based on a twitter pic.  Seems the core Autobot cast is in the city but hopefully more will be spotted soon.  Thanks to Quinn for the links.

Video From Transformers 7 Set Show More of Mirage/Jazz

Here is more from the set of Transformers 7 currently filming in Montreal, Canada. The two videos below show Mirage in action and it pretty much eliminates all doubt that its really Jazz's G1 alt mode was used as source. In addition, you can get a look at the back of Bumblebee as a 1977 Camaro over at Montreal Car Spotting (unable to embed). A few more set pics are on twitter via here, here and here. Lastly the closeup on Mirage's hood to see the Autobot symbol is from here. Thanks to Quinn for the links.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Set Pics in Montreal

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is currently filming in various places in Montreal, Canada. Thanks to Montreal Car Spotting Facebook page along with tweets from Frikicat56 and OceanicJelly we have a look at many of the cars that are being used to give the set that 1994 look and feel.  This includes a look at a script page that best I can tell doesn't reveal anything spoilerish. Other than a quick look at the Mirage Porsche, it doesn't appear the other vehicles are Transformers alt modes but hard to know for sure.  Thanks to Quinn for the links below.

Transformers 7 Set Pics Reveal Jazz, Oops Mirage

Twitter user Protoman has posted the below images from the set of Transformers 7 in Montreal, Canada. Remember the movie is set in 1994 if wondering why older cars and clothes. Of note is two Porsches, which G1 fans would immediately identify as Jazz. However. apparently the cars are for Mirage.

The use of branded vehicles have to be agreed to by car manufacturers who generally demand to be associated with a good wholesome characters.  Its the main reason why Decepticons in the movies are non-branded vehicles as brands don't want to be associated with "evil" characters. Its silly overthinking by business executives. People dumb enough to think "oh no evil character in movie was a <insert brand>, I refuse to buy!" they were never going to begin with.

So the choice of Jazz alt mode for Mirage suggests to me the director and others wanted Mirage's invisibility powers for the story in an alt mode that fit the story environment (streets, city etc), so race car alt mode was out. Also he was already used and died in the first Transformers film so it could be they are simply trying to introduce new characters not seen in the franchise before.

New Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy - Kingdom Trailer

Netflix has released a new trailer for the conclusion of the Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy. Kingdom will release on July 29 as it depicts the Autobots and Decepticons crash landing on Earth.  In the old G1 cartoons, this would be when they go into status until revived in the modern era but in this revision that is the case as they meet their Beast Wars counterparts on the planet.

In play is the Golden Disc. In original continuity, it was found by Megatron on Voyager 1 where he etched the means to defeat the Autobots and conquer Cyberton.  Exactly what, how and all that was never explained as it was destroyed by Dinobot in his last act before dying.  The part it plays in this new continuity remains unknown except we know its from the future as Galvatron gave it to his past self Megatron in an attempt to change history before being pulled back to his time likely by Unicron.  There seems to be a lot of story ground for the cartoon to cover. I am betting it is really setting up the next series of stories as the Transformers race enter the modern era on Earth as part of a not yet announced new line of Transformers toys. Thanks to Feris O. for the link.
