Hi-Res Transformers Pictures
New Hi-Res pics have hit the web that show various movie Transformers with some fantastic details. Blackout remains my favorite design while Starscream continues to be the ugliest. The pics are from a the Lunchables website that has a promotional partnership with the movie. Those images where then reproduced via the Michael Bay blog. I grabbed the images from the Serve with Chips blog. Thanks to Mitchell Z, Lucas C and Maximus for the info. Oops mislabeled Ironhide, added Jazz, now corrected.

ReplyDeleteawesome. Megatron looks different again...haha. I really liked how the hood part of bubble bee didn't transform in the older pics, but looks like they changed it again.
ReplyDeleteThese are some nice stills, but bumblebee appears tall from the perspective, and hardly his normal humble pose.
ReplyDeleteI hear he has a much expanded role in the movie as does Spike. That's a new take. Can't say they're the ones I'd put front and center.
Also, does anyone else notice the total lack of color? Not that there is anything wrong with that.

ReplyDeletewhoa, I've been watching too much of the old stuff. there pics look washed out and they all look like they need repair. rubbed my eyes. they look normal again.
ReplyDeleteI actually like the new look on starscream, but then again i always did like the gruesome looking characters (general grevious from star wars for example) blackout also looks awesome as well, the more i see this pics the more i wish it was july already...

ReplyDeleteI remember reading somewhere that the creators really didn't want you to be able to tell what their alt mode was while in Robot mode. Not sure why.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder the toys are different because these could never transform, looking from a realistic view. Strange how Prime is the most colerful of all and he is surpose to be an Autobot leader? More like he is high on energon now. In any case he is cool but as if he combined with Hot Rod.

I really like the pic of Jazz. Everyone here knows that good pics of him are few and far between right now. So this is nice.
ReplyDeleteIronhide looks like a giant mess that is truely incapable of doing anything. It seriously looks like they threw together his humanoid mode at the last second. "HOLY SHIT!!! We did this for everyone except Ironhide!" "QUICK!!! Slap something together! No one will know!!"
ReplyDeleteAll the other Transformers have clearly defined extremities. Why not Ironhide?
surely the image of starscream isn't taken from the movie... i prey it's taken from the video game cos with all the bits juttin out her and there... it just don't look right. having finally understand what is goin on with ironhide's face... why the hell have they made him look like a cow?! he has the massive black nose; and they've even gone and given him hooves as well!! i know he's suppose t be the type of cowboy warrior, but surely there's no need to make him look bovine!! on the shot of him posing, its impossible to tell which way he's standing!
ReplyDeleteunfortunately these shots have not instilled any confidence in this movie... as much as it pains me to say so. i just think they've completely missed the point with the designs. i read somewhere the designers didn't want the bots to be recognisable in robot mode... WHY THE HELL NOT? if something changes into a hummer (humV to you yanks) then how can it NOT be recognised as a jumbled up hummer when its walking?! colour alone is not sufficient to achieve this! after seeing starscream swing round the bridge i thought he looked great but now, i'm slightly concerned! and there is not a cat in hell's chance that megatron can change into anything remotely airborne!
god know's what they're gonna make cybertron look like! :0(
^ I think this is the same Brit who was whining about the southern accent of the soldier in one of the trailers. That's probably why America made the movie, because if you guys had been in charge you wouldn't be getting anything done.
ReplyDeleteMost of the images are pretty damn good I think. OP is amazing, Megatron's image makes me like his design more. Starscream's does seem a bit different, but I like it anyway. Iron Hide looks great. So what if he has a flatter face. He's not a van or red either so why aren't you bitching about that?
The more I learn/see of this movie I realize that I can't remain dependant on G1. Sure, I'd like to see influences and at least some harkening to the originals. But a carbon copy would be boring and uncreative.
I think (read: hope) Bay will redeem himself with this one.
no it isn't the same brit but you're right it is a brit sayin this! you americans all need films put before you that prevent any need for actually thinkin! all films that seem to do well in america are absolute no-brainers! any film that does require an incling of thought goes straight down the shit-pan! suppose it's a case of 'like president; like nation'!

just watched war of the worlds... that was a big budget disaster imo... no explanation how they got there, no explanation why they come out... and no explanation why they all disappear when one falls over... i just hope transformers does not lack such requried detail. yes a film can blow you away with graphics and cgi etc... but there's gotta be something of a stroy with an explanation to it!
from the previously leaked script (dont worry, i wont spill the beans!) it does seem like theyve managed to capture a somewhat decent story... i could picture it well in my head when reading it... really imagined it as a transformers film... sorry t say that prime's line; "my bad" was in the provisional script but bear in mind this was leaked in august 2006 so plenty of chance for that to be taken out... lets hope!
Donnie Darko is one to think on after watching it... the kid was really screwed up... but the big question is: did he actually go back in time or was it all imagined at the point of death?
ReplyDeleteAs for the War of the Worlds...I guess that knowing parts of the original helps because they started to die off because of being exposed to bacteria on Earth (the original had them coming to Earth, not reawakening).
If the movie has as much story as the prequel comics did, I think it'll be safe.

ReplyDeleteSorry, I don't...but if there's a comic book store nearby, I'd check there... but a regular book store -might- get them...but expect them to look like crap because people there don't treat comics with respect (or anywhere other than a comic store for that matter).
ReplyDeleteYes, I totally agree that Blackout is still my fave designed live action Decepticon, while Starscream is the ugliest. DX BUT that new pic pose of Starscream looks real interesting, cause it doesn't show off much of his uglyness, haha.
ReplyDeleteThe rest looked real bulky, and I think Megatron's new look looks more like him, hahaha. Can't wait to watch the film, eventhough if there's slight things which clashes with my taste.
