Transformers Score Cancelled?

While it was never confirmed or announced to begin with, it seems that Sony Music decided to not release the score from Transformers. According to Knight Shift, via Superhero Hype forums that SonyMusicStore Customer Service replied in to an inquiry about the score with "At this time, there are no immediate plans regarding the release of the Transformers soundtrack score."

I can't say I am suprised. The movie has been released in most of the world for nearly a month now but no score CD to go with it, when the sales would be highest, pretty much proved that there was no plans for the score album to begin with.

If want to read the full report, click here. There is also an online petition for the score here. Probably will not work but can't hurt to sign I guess.

  1. I don't believe a cd has been cancelled outright. My experience is summer movie scores are not released for some time after. Not sure why, but always seems to be the case whenever I look for one. So I'm still holding out hope that we'll see a TF score cd before the end of the year. :)

  4. Should release it on intunes or something. The score was pretty good...probably the best part of the movie. Soundtrack was horrible for the most part, especially since it seem to have nothing to do with the movie.

  5. I really loved the songs fom the Movie on the soundtrack, some of them not even featured in the movie. However, when I go out to buy a SOUNDTRACK, I do expect to hear the SOUNDTRACK. :P So yeah, kinda disappointed they didn't release the cool orchestral stuff they worked so hard on. Probably one of the coolest elements of any film is the soundtrack.

  7. It wasn't up to sony quality. Everything about the move seemed to have a last minute quality, including the music. It's doesn't take anything away from the movie, it just didn't entice Sony with it's timing and quality(which is a factor of the timing).

  9. Most of the time, scores or sound tracks are released the week of theatrical release, or a week after. So it not being released to date indicates that they didn't plan on having a score release. But, if you google search, you'll find youtube links with cuts and other sites that have track listings. They better.....or else!!

  12. this soundtrack wasn't done by sony. sony did the soundtrack for the 1980 animated movie. thats why they havent confirmed anything. and the reason why they havent made the score for it yet is because michael bay could care less about the score. he hardly spent anytime with jablonsky discussing it during production. awesome score, hopefully jablonsky can put it together into an album.
