Yesterday, a final version of the The Fallen poster was revealed and now thanks to Nige, here is a new poster for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Not sure where it was taken but pretty good looking with Sam and Mikeala running, the Fallen atop a pyramid and Optimus looking bad ass. For whatever reason, the studios often create a US poster and an international poster and this could just be the latter. I guess we will know if it shows up stateside.
Update: I think my poor phrasing above caused some confusion. By "final poster" I was referring to The Fallen face version only where there is the face mostly hidden in shadows, photoshop enhanced version and now as the link above takes you, the full CGI rendered face glaring at you. It wouldn't surprise me if multiple posters are released stateside and elsewhere over the next few months so a final poster in the marketing series for the movie is probably a ways off.

In the name of Mr. Bay "Awesome!"
ReplyDeleteNice colors on that. Would like to own that poster myself.
ReplyDeleteDamn this poster is totally badass !
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fake to me - they wouldn't be releasing a poster with credits this early, they would still be in the teaser stages. And they wouldn't use an already-released publicity still from the movie (Shia and Megan) on the poster.
ReplyDeleteReally, take a look - nothing on this poster is new - even the picture of Prime we've seen before.
Looks great to me - fake or not.
ReplyDeleteI don't recall seeing a Prime promo shot without his mouth guard before though...
And they wouldn't use an already-released publicity still from the movie (Shia and Megan) on the poster.
ReplyDeleteWhy not? :P
I'm sure I've seen posters in the past that have used elements taken from stills - although most likely nothing of this caliber.
ReplyDelete@Skowl
ReplyDeleteYour going to look like a complete idiot if we see the poster in movie theaters. LOL
Lol its funny that retards just call photoshop everytime they see a poster. Paramount and other big companies actually use photoshop themeselves.
ReplyDeleteLol its funny that retards just call photoshop everytime they see a poster. Paramount and other big companies actually use photoshop themeselves.
ReplyDeleteBecause everything is a fake. Fallen is fake. This poster is fake. M. Bay is fake. This movie is fake. Everything in the Matrix is fake! I mean... Agent Smith voiced Megatron in the first movie! That's the ultimate prouf! Matrix is everywhere...
Has anyone else noticed that Prime doesn't have his flames??? Am I right or am I just blind?
ReplyDeleteU right
ReplyDeleteYou're blind.
ReplyDeleteunfortunetly optimus is too dimmed out and the poster is in an odd angle making it harder to see his blames
ReplyDeleteMichael Bay thanks Egypt for letting him film the pyramids by depicting them being blown up.
ReplyDeleteWe came to a conclusion that it's fake not because of 'photoshop', duh we know even pros use photoshop.
ReplyDelete1) The composition and colours are really bad.
2) Use of stock footage? Surely they've got better pictures that the stills we've already seen.
2) It's only February and a poster already out?
C'mon.
composition is horrible, not just bad.
ReplyDeletewhat would they be promoting?
their main stars? no, too small. horrible expressions.
that the movie is about egypt exploding? no, thats plain stupid.
that optimus prime is dead and watching us from above? doesn't make any sense.
the cover is ok for when bootlegs go for sale on sidewalks thats about it.
Of course company's put out movie posters early. Wasn't the teaser poster put out in January? (yes, there are such things as teaser posters)
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda stuck in the middle on which side I'm taking on this one.
On the pro side, if this is a theatrical poster, I say it's actually quite good. Like the teaser trailers we've seen, we still don't have much information about what happens in the plot besides the Fallen appearing and lots of robots punching the skid plates off each other.
On the con side, I honestly think that it's too colorful for this movie. The teaser poster was very dark and foreboding, and both of the trailers leave us in that same feeling. I would expect, like the movie, for Bay and Co. to impress upon the idea that this movie is much more darker and serious than the first.
As a side note, I think that there were at least five different final posters for TF1 in the U.S alone. Check here:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0418279/posters
As such, I expect to see more than just this poster when the movie gets released. But I approve of the design nonetheless

Enjoy!! Please rate and comment when possible!! i have a TON of pics also. i will just have to find a good source to put them up on the web, instead of my own personal photo pages.
has to be fake because:
ReplyDeleteA: work is shitty
b: optimus is missing his flames
c: if I can do a better one it has to be fake.
not to mention its only February. they will wait to April or may to release the poster. Not to mention the angle it was taken at. if it was me and i got a chance to get a shot of that, i would make sure its taken straight on not off to the side where you hit glare.
this is my humble opinion.

ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Autobotgrl83 and Scowl's comment. If you take a look back at the first film movie posters, there is a consistent layout and color palette from teaser to official theatrical release. According to the TF2 teaser poster, they obviously kept the same dark, apocalyptic design style.
ReplyDeleteIf this really is the official TF2 theatrical poster, that will definitely surprise me (I'll be the first to admit it). The brighter side is.....majority of the readers are already loving the design. But somehow this vibrant color palette make the film look...happier?!
I also have to agree with Scowl. Not only does it look like they used promotional shots, it looks way too busy for a "teaser" poster. If you recall the ones for the first film, it was just one robot per poster (Prime, Megs, Bumblebee) then later they added all the other posters with more details (much like this poster here.)
ReplyDeleteWhat john j. said. its most likely gonna be that fallen from T2 teaser poster, optimus and another one. but im about 100% positive Optimus will be in the official release poster.
ReplyDeleteLooks kinda like the RETURN OF THE JEDI poster.. lol not that im a star wars geek or anything. but there are similarities.
ReplyDeletefake :)
ReplyDeleteI agree the stance of Sam and the beam from the pyramid mirrors Lukes stance on the Jedi poster (& Videocassette / DVD cover).
ReplyDeleteI think that This movie overall contains an odd mix of things stolen from ID4, Star Wars and Terminator and then adds its own semi-new ideas most of which are horrible (Namely Wheelbots).
I'm really actively NOT looking forward to this movie now - I'm more in a sense of dread waiting for the car crash it's going to be with Bay bragging about his "Comedy" stylings - the fact that he wrote a good portion of it himself, and the woeful disaster that was the toyfair. Makes me a very unpostivie individual at this time, and that is even when one has already lowered ones standards so low to meet the expectations of a Michael Bay Movie.
At the present time I'm hoping for mearly "Better than Uwl' or W. Anderson" in standards.
But I bet the editing and low brow comedy will probably make it as undigestible as the 1st one only with more things blowing up this time.
@ Mighty.Maximal
ReplyDeleteI love Star Wars!!! one of the greatest movie franchise in history (and one of my favorites along wit the tf movie).
this is different from ur point, but i think the whole return of the jedi concept will be the third movie, if the autobots get their butts handed to the decepticons in the ROTF.
you kno, in Star Wars, there was revenge of the sith and then return of the jedi.
third movie should b called Transformers: Return of the Autobots. lol jk jk jk.
@Mighty.Maximal
ReplyDeleteDont worry the poster is fake. They wouldnt release the official poster 4 freakin months before the movie. Its idiotic.
They release things in steady doses to keep us pining for more. Its a marketing tactic. A fan did this shit to see how far it would spread on the web.
Oh NightShade87, teaser posters don't have the full list of credits on them.
ReplyDeleteIt's not fake, it's real. This poster was revealed at the toy fair. So... we need a nice hi-res version.
ReplyDeleteAutobotgrl83, I'm thinking this was just a promo poster for Toyfair, but not an official theatrical release poster. Someone that took the time to frame this poster is really throwing me off. However, with Prime's flames missing and many use of promotional shots - I'm sure the Art Director would not approve a design like this.
ReplyDeleteThe Sam image is take from a promotional shot posted in Empire Magazine: http://www.shockya.com/news/wp-content/uploads/transformers_2_empire1.jpg
@autobotgrl83: Definitely. There's always a procedure for things like that. I can definitely see some kind of Fallen/Prime posters (that will more than likely be the DVD cover for the SE & Blu Ray versions as well) As for a third (Dunno if they'd even want to make a 3rd, who knows.) Maybe either Devastator (that would certainly be a challenge for the artist(s) or else Bumblebee again.
ReplyDeleteI would have said Megs, but they're obviously trying to keep him on the lowdown (despite all signs pointing to him being in the film) so they can pull a SURPRISE! moment somewhere towards the end of the movie.
I think it is a fake. Or I mean, It's gotta be an over seas poster.
ReplyDeleteits a poster who cares
ReplyDeleteRegarding the fact that this has come out too early - it's entirely possible that this is leaked from the creative studio in charge of producing the marketing. That kind of stuff happens pretty early on...
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone saw a black figure on top of the pyramid??? it looks like the fallen
ReplyDeletetformers.com just posted a higher res version...
ReplyDeletetransformer 2, more action, more fx, more Megan Fox doing nothing xD
ReplyDeleteIt's fake.

ReplyDeleteLink please. No? Is it to much trouble for you, or you just don't know how to copy/past?
In the time it took you to post that sarcastic reply, you could just have easily typed the URL into your browser... sheesh!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't rule it out on the basis of the credits. I doubt the WGA would have a final credits block yet - if it's an early draft it's conceivable that they'd use the old one.
