Update: Empire has posted clearer images of the same photos which I swapped out below. They also provide some more tidbits including full names for some of the characters and plot details.
This fourth film in the franchise is something of a fresh start, and sees an Earth scarred by the events of the last three films but moving on after the disappearance of all giant robots.
When Mark Wahlberg's inventor, Cade Yeager, discovers a buried Transformer, the stage is set for the return of the giant beasties. There will also be some business with Cade's daughter Tessa (Nicola Peltz); her secret racing driver boyfriend Shane; Stanley Tucci's Joshua; his geologist assistant Darcy (Sophia Myles); "the CEO of the Chinese Transformers", played by Li Bingbing; and Kelsey Grammer's Harold Attinger, the film's non-robot big bad.
Not only the green fork prop is awesome, that is one big ass movie set!!! Look at the big ass curved wall behind them and behind it is a green wall.
ReplyDeleteCould it be a spacebridge?
And the 3rd pic shows a red car sliced in half. Is it a normal car, race car or a bot/con? It seems like a normal car, but it looks like they drive on a speedway of some sort. Look at the curved corner in the back.
I would be very dissapointed if it's Stinger, who is sliced in his car mode. He's a Decepticon (if toy line is correct), but Pagani Huayra is too cool looking car to be destroyed for real instead of using CGI.
DeleteThat scene was filmed in Detroit. The green background is to add china city layout in the background
DeleteI don't think so Mawii, I don't recall seeing big green screens in Detroit, do you? And I don't recall seeing such a big metal looking prop with a car in it.
DeleteIt looks like it is being shot in a filmstudio and it looks like a big ass metal stage. Maybe it's the same as the pointy metal looking thing on the official pic with Bay and some of the cast and crew.
The car sliced in half is *insert favorite transformer*..now rage about it
DeleteI don't recall anyone giving every single detail of every single shot that was taken in Detroit or anywhere for that matter.
That doesn't look like a race track to me. It looks like a regular non city road.
Most likely it's a film studio. That does in fact look like a green screen behind the backdrop. I don't know for certain but that is my guess.
And that is my big ass two cents :P
Martinus is right road does curve...and I live in texas they were in austin filming at the new formula 1 track and roads around it...I knew as soon as they went there he was gonna use the only F1 track in u.s.
DeleteI don't think that's it. There is nothing to support it's a race track. However, it does look like a non city roads. Supported by the factor that in another picture there are mountains
DeleteCar destroyed is Rino ?
ReplyDeleteYou mean Dino?
DeleteThe most Bots died in their robotmode. I think its just a car
ReplyDeleteI guess you're right. SIdeways in RotF is the only con that died in vehicle mode.
DeleteGlanced through the article earlier only real storyline reveals are transformers have disappeared since the last movie until one of the male characters dig one up and the climax is confirmed taking place in asia
ReplyDeleteSimbatron: it's not green screen - it['s just safety netting wrapped around bamboo scaffold - which suggests China.
ReplyDeletealso the poster in between them in the distance shows an asian guy so this supports the thoery of it being in asia/china.
On the little blue piece in the right corner you can see an Asian guy? Boy you're good :/
DeleteI don't recall seeing such a massive setpiece in Detroit, where they could drive up a car on, it has ramp for cars to drive up to.
I don't buy your safety netting theory, imo it's a big ass green screen.
Simbatron: I'm a UK resident so seen the article for myself - the photo was clearer in print. I'm not a film produdction expert but doesn't green screen need to be 'solid' and not mesh ? The way the scaffold 'fans' out at the top is to 'catch' anything that might fall from height during a build-job. Plus it looks like the building is undergoing renovation - whether this was being built as part of the set or if the finished look was a 'building site' for the film I dunno. You can even see the chinese letters beneath (red font on white back and white font on red back).
DeleteThe photo of the green hand shows green screen behind... and it's solid.
@Simbatron, dude that's exactly the photo I was talking about, not about the one with Bay and Wahlberg in it. Dude we were talking about different photo's. :/
DeleteThe green thing is a transformer hand. Evidently it grabs her. CG will come later.
ReplyDeleteWait for it.....
ReplyDeleteSomeone is bound to name who the hand belongs too and try to say what is going on in the scene's without having a clue
Looks to me like a continuation of tge photo of her below. con must smash the car and then grab her
ReplyDeleteNo, one is on a massive set and the other one is out in the open.
DeleteA few more months and we will all know what is going on....
Deletehere's what happened in the scenes.
ReplyDeleteThe Decepticon's have brought down a ship. The girl in an effort to save humanity ramps the car and crashes through the side of the ship inadvertently landing herself right in the midst of a decepticon troop. Who in turn grabs her and squishes her puny little head and says "This is about transformers bitch...gtfo" :P
Actually I like the human element and just wanted to post something
The first picture with Nicola Peltz and the green hand and the 3rd to last picture with her on the ground...I think they go together. The car in the background in both pictures is the same and she is wearing the identical outfit...what is interesting is that the first picture of Bay and her...they are on some sort of platform with the car smashed...in the 3rd to last picture, that scene is shot outside on a road (Detroit or Chicago I assume?) I cant wait to see this movie!
ReplyDeleteits the claw that big green hand thing LOL had to say that for the fun of it
ReplyDeleteHe he, the CLAW!
DeleteRed Car destroyed is Dino/mirage ?
ReplyDeletenope. is not ferrari
DeleteMy guess is that it's dino because Michael Bay said he's going to kill off dino and sideswipe and the Autobots are in their altmodes as if they just arrived and saw the crushed and sliced vechicle and it's a red vechicle.also why else would the Autobots be their. I think dino and sideswipe are hunted down by decepticons and they send a distress call to the Autobots but they arrive their late and see the tourn and sliced dino lying in the field dead and that's why their in a holt possession starring at the diseased autobot. in the image.this just my speculation take it as you will.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you hear Bay saying that?? I didn't hear or read anything of them being killed off, nowhere.
DeleteThe red sliced car could be Dino, but it could also be a random car, if they drive on a normal road where they were attacked.
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteI have not seen anywhere where Bay said he was killing off Sideswipe or Dino. All was said, by an "official" fan run site was that neither would be in the movie. However, THAT can be taken in ALOT of different ways. It doesn't neccesarily mean they're being killed off. It could simply mean they received new designs, hence their old designs will not be in the movie. It could also mean they bot fled off planet. So unless you have irrefutable proof otherwise, all you're giving is your own opinion on what may or may not happen.
DeleteWahlberg and Reynor look very surprised, I bet that's probably the first scene where Bee comes to stage.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it is could be (one of?) the GM car plant were they filmed stuff.
That's gonna be an autobot sliced in half...the stunticons gonna be on that formula 1 track in austin...just a thought
ReplyDelete^^^and gonna say bee and few others run into menasor then prime shows up way later after bots flee to save their lives
ReplyDeleteCarlos post the article you seem to be the only one who's seen it.
ReplyDeleteIt's on a web site called sibertron.com just Google transformers 4 dino and sideswipe and then their it says "No dino and sideswipe in TransFormers Age Of Extinction" and it'll pop up.
ReplyDeleteThat's the same story that's been going around for awhile. There are also rumors that Sideswipe could be in the movie. Personally, I'm going to wait for either Bay to either confirm or deny the stories or wait til the movie comes out. Those are the ONLY Official and concrete confirmations of anything. Until then, everything else is rumor and theory.
DeleteThe pic of prime and crew heading towards the red car is at the gm proving ground. The pic of peltz with the car is inside the giant production studio in Michigan and I think it may be the inside of a ship just going by what's in the background. On the sideswipe and Dino thing a guy on the Michael bay forums posted something saying that sideswipe and Dino had great alt modes and them not returning and Nelson just said yes. So who knows if he was talking about them having great alt modes or not returning that's about what was said
ReplyDeletehttp://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/no-dino-or-sideswipe-in-transformers-4-age-of-extinction/28293/
ReplyDeleteis the link to the article if anyone is interested
"Others went on to ask if their disappearance will be explained, but so far no replies. Like most things at this point in the game, this should be taken with a grain of salt. However, neither of their previous vehicle modes have been on set."
It doesn't say anything about that Michael Bay is killing them off. If I had to guess I think they will have magically disappeared. Quite possibly due to many of the transformers having left Earth.
All the vehicles on S4TE (Bays site) are all Autobots.
ReplyDeleteThat why skids, mudflap and jolt died in DOTM but never shown in the film. So it led us to speculate they disappeared but in the comic book based on the movie skids and mudflap died by sentinel when he killed iron hide and jolt by shockwave. But movie fans had no idea because it never happened in the film. But I like your theory since they all have left the face of the earth maybe dino and sideswipe left to cybertron and it will conclude into Transformers 5 that theory sounds way better it wound suck if they died, their both so awesome and we still need a dino action figure.
ReplyDeleteOk, but the comics really have nothing to do with the movies. It's just a comic nerd/trans fans personal explanation for the sudden disappearance of Bots from the films. I don't read or put stock in those fan interpretations. Sorry.
DeleteYeah that's what I mean they don't explain None of the robots disappearance in the films but in the comics that are just story's that supposedly go with the film and they don't why can't they just show the robots at least being killed off so we can know that their dead and not read comic books to find out.I just hope dino and sideswipe don't die but speculating builds suspense to both the characters and the movie.
DeleteBesides, Bay said that AoE won't have Comic adaptation unlike other movies.
DeleteHere is alittle more stuff that kinda goes with what the Blog Master has already updated, some of this you already read above.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.movieweb.com/news/transformers-age-of-extinction-will-be-less-goofy-says-michael-bay
I just read the article that the link above takes you to... a few things.
ReplyDeleteFirst off... and I really don't have a problem with this, after reading what BAY had to say, he's DEFINITELY coming back to direct T5.
Also, he's pretty much stating in that article that he thinks the first three films were so, so and compared to them, AOE will be way more EPIC and SERIOUS. Just by the way he spoke in that article he gave me the impression that there is a lot of "off world" footage... and I loooove the sound of that... that makes me want to see AOE even more.
Also, there were a few references made to someone called the "CEO of the Chinese Transformers"????? WTF??? That really sounds like the Chinese have made some sort of clone Transformers. (Lets hope note!!!!)
Lastly... I have been starring at the pic of the red car that is sliced in half for a while now and for some reason I'm just getting the impression that is a dead BOT??? Especially with the way Prime and the other BOTS are driving into the pic. I don't know, I could be way off, I just have a gut feeling.
When Mark Wahlberg's inventor, Cade Yeager, discovers a buried Transformer, the stage is set for the...so lets speculate, Grimlock anyone???
ReplyDeleteHumans making Transformers??? Ruined completely ruined and I am a Bay supporter but that is just stupid. No human has that advanced technology to even make a clone Transformer.
ReplyDeleteWell apparently in the G1 SERIES THEY FLIPPING DID!
DeleteNemesis Prime in TF: Prime Was created by humans. All they needed was to build a robotic body containing T-cog and energon. Yueming could do the same by using parts of dead Transformers.
DeleteG1 was a cartoon!!!!!!! Can you get that through your head ??? A CARTOON!!!!!!!!
DeleteWhat are you talking about? Energon isn't even in the movies. You just can't put some junk together and call it a transformer. These are living robotic organisms!!!! They even breathe in the movies remember in ROTF fog was coming from their mouths in the beginning sequence in China. No human can replicate that. These robots have a soul and if you are reactivating one fine, but building a new one from scratch is ridiculous.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteWhat I meant was that's true but didn't they take the dinobots to cybertron where vector sigma gave them life or was that the Arialbots??not sure but they used vector sigma to grant one of them life.
ReplyDeleteRemeber the female ninja in G1?? The humans created her and she kicked the autobots a$$!
ReplyDeleteJust a random thought, but what if the "buried" Transformer Cade uncovers was one of the Transformers who was deactivated/killed in the previous movies? It doesn't have to mean that he uncovers a Dinobot. It could be some Bot or Con who was offlined in battle from one of the previous movies. I also have the feeling that the Chinese Transformers Department could be kind of the Chinese version of a more advanced Sector Seven.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be awesome if they brought Devestator back and did him properly
ReplyDeleteHum ok so from humans working for transformers in dotm to humans making them lollll hell no!!! It would only work if they re help by autobots but not alone... my guess is their making the dinobots like in g1 with optimus to help them fight a big ass decepticon treath like hum... galvatron or even unicron..
