Peltz, Reynor Talk Green Broom Sticks for Transformers

In an interview with io9.com, Transformers: Age of Extinction's Nicola Peltzand Jack Reynor talk about working with the green broom sticks and using their imagination to act against Transformers. Highlights below, full interview here. Thanks to Feris O. for the movie still.
What was it like for you as actors working with characters who were largely CG?

Clip #3 and Meet Shane Featurette for Transformers 4

The first vid is another clip from Transformers: Age of Extinction, in what looks like a scene that takes place a few moments from clip #2 with Nicola Peltz, TJ Miller and Mark Wahlberg. Much like the "Meet Cade" vid, below is the Shane version as Jack Reynor describes his character.

Entertainment Weekly Article Talks Grimlock, the Next Trilogy, and Bayhem

This week's issue of Entertainment Weekly, their Summer preview issue, has an article (image left) about Transformers: Age of Extinction. In it director Michael Bay confirms that Transformers 4 is the start of the next trilogy while Mark Wahlberg comments on the storyline and Jack Reynor talks about working on the set. The article also revealed a few factoids about the CGI version of Grimlock saying the character is "150 feet long from the tail to the nostrils, 63.5 feet tall from the ground to the top of his horns, and weigh 850 tons." Below is a transcript of the the comments from Bay and the others.
Bay: "It's kind of like a new Transformers. We had three, the first trilogy, and this is going to be the next. ...It's the first of a new trilogy. I'm not necessarily sure that I'm doing [the others], but that's what it's meant for."

Bay: "{Shia LaBeouf]'s a good guy, but three movies, the same guy, it's time. You know what I'm saying? It's always good to freshen it up and change the story."

Video Interviews with Peltz, Raynor and Wahlberg

Collider has posted two videos (below) of their interviews with the core cast of Transformers: Age of Extinction while they were attending CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week. The first video is with Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz while the second was with Mark Wahlberg. Lots of background noise so hard to catch everything. Not much is revealed story wise as Raynor and Peltz were clearly coached to twist any answer into up selling the movie while revealing nothing specific about the movie (as likely ordered by Bay and the studio). The more experienced Wahlberg covers his inability to provide details about the movie by sticking with working with Bay and an overview of a stunt (but answer so vague it could be for any scene in the movie, but probably the net jump sequence).

MTV From Set of Transformers 4 In Detroit

MTV has posted n video with the core cast of Transformers: Age of Extinction as they filmed in Detroit last summer. Nothing much is revealed about the plot as its mostly used to introduce the actors and the characters they are playing. In a bit towards the end, the surprisingly informed Josh Horowitz pointed out to Mark Walhberg's role in Boogie Nights connects back to Transformers thanks to a common song.

Second Character Poster for Transformers: Age of Extinction

The next character poster for Transformers: Age of Extinction has been released via the Facebook account of Jack Reynor. The image depicts the actor in his role as Shane Dyson. With Mark Walhberg's already out, safe to assume that Nicola Peltz version is next. Thanks to Feris O. for the image.

Story Tidbits, Video from Transformers 4 Hong Kong Sets

Chinese website M1905 has posted a bunch of video from the various Hong Kong sets of Transformers: Age of Extinction. Sprinkled in the set are interviews with some of the cast. Most of the videos are in Mandarin but you can catch a lot of behind the scenes stuff as Michael Bay, Jack Reynor (Shane Dyson), Mark Wahlberg (Cade Yeager), Nicola Peltz (Tessa Yeager), Stanley Tucci and the crew work. TFW2005 was able to gleam a few story tidbits (below). The full set of videos is here. As for the sword image to the left, that was found by GabrielPrime and seems to an image of the Cybertronian sword that Mark Wahlberg's been carting around on many of the film's sets.

- Reynor: Shane is secret Irish race car driving boyfriend of Tessa's due to dad's no dating rule. Gains trust of Cade by saving Tess and Cade's life early in the movie.
- Tessa's mother is dead, result is Cade being over protective of her.
- Cade and Optimus become friends due to their (similar) code of ethics.
- Prime forced into situation of choose doing the right thing over his own life while Cade must choose between himself or his daughter (guessing translation problem because choice is always obvious for hero characters, Prime especially)
- Li Bingbing's character is owner of a factory in China (guessing something to do with the rumored Chinese Transformers)
- One Cybertronian speaks Mandarin only.
- The movie's third act takes place entirely in Hong Kong.

Official Transformers: Age of Extinction Set Images, Plot Tidbits (Updated)

A few days ago Empire Magazine revealed their cover with Optimus Prime for their January 2014 issue. Now ComicBookMovie.com has posted what I assume are the images that accompied the article which UK stands today. No text, just the images. Not really seeing much in spoilers except that first image with Bay wielding a green prop that probably represents a Decepticon hand to be inserted later by ILM. Thanks to Feris Othman for the link.

Update: Empire has posted clearer images of the same photos which I swapped out below. They also provide some more tidbits including full names for some of the characters and plot details.
This fourth film in the franchise is something of a fresh start, and sees an Earth scarred by the events of the last three films but moving on after the disappearance of all giant robots.

When Mark Wahlberg's inventor, Cade Yeager, discovers a buried Transformer, the stage is set for the return of the giant beasties. There will also be some business with Cade's daughter Tessa (Nicola Peltz); her secret racing driver boyfriend Shane; Stanley Tucci's Joshua; his geologist assistant Darcy (Sophia Myles); "the CEO of the Chinese Transformers", played by Li Bingbing; and Kelsey Grammer's Harold Attinger, the film's non-robot big bad.

ET On Transformers: Age of Extinction Hong Kong Set

Tuesday Entertainment Weekly posted a video from the set of Transformers: Age of Extinction in Detroit that was a proxy for Hong Kong. In this second set report, they are reporting from the actual city as production was on its final week of filming. More Bayhem was shown as cast discussed how they killed time on set. Michael Bay also dropped a cryptic (aka useless) hint about the movie saying "The world has progressed/modernized to a point it can almost cannibalize and kill itself."

ET On Transformers: Age of Extinction Set Reveals TF Character Name

Entertainment Tonight has posted a report from the Detroit set of Transformers: Age of Extinction when the crew was filming on the "China set" built in the middle of Detroit, Michigan in first week of August (vids: here, here and here). The video has quick comments from Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, and Nicola Peltz (inexplicably asked her relationship status) with cameo from Michael Bay. The reporter, while sitting in the Pagani Huayra, (SPOILER) referred to it as Stinger which is a name that has popped up as a potential character name. I wouldn't call this official confirmation but darn close as I doubt the host (reporter is too strong a word) knows anything about Transformers except what is fed to her by the producer speaking in her earpiece.

Update: Correction to title, removed the reference to "Autobot". As pointed out in the comments, the faction remains unconfirmed. The toy list references "Stinger" of various classes but saw no faction reference but the vehicle has been mostly hanging with known Autobot vehicles during filming.

The Voice of Prime on Transformers 4 Hong Kong Set (Updated)

A video posted on Youtube from Transformers: Age of Extinction filming on October 25 at Hong Kong's West Kowloon Cultural District provides a look at what might be the final scene of the movie. It shows Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor standing behind Mark Wahlberg as he talks up at a pole that represents Optimus Prime while Peter Cullen's voice booms from nearby speakers.

Below is my best guess of Cullen's lines which hint at some movie events so spoiler warning. After that moment other bits from filming at other locations are shown. This is from the same source, LF3258, that show posted video of other TF vehicles earlier in the week. The image on the left of Peltz, Tucci, and Wahlberg's stunt doubles is from a gallery of images you can find here. Great photos of mostly the vehicles on set but no clue what was being filmed.

Update Few more set images, with Walhberg carrying his sword and the cast running with their large bag can be found here.

Videos of Filming Transformers 4 in Hong Kong

Transformers: Age of Extinction had a productive weekend as filming continued in Kong Kong as bunch of videos found by TFormers.com show. The first video shows the entire core cast as they filmed a sequence that involved Stanley Tucci and Mark Wahlberg carrying a body bag like shape (maybe filled with those Cybertronian swords/keys?) with Sophia Myles, Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor following close behind. The 2nd video is Bay prepping for a vehicle sequence and the actors killing time during steups. The 3rd video is the Freightliner being chased by three different colored SUVs, next is quick video of 'Bee turning a corner. Fifth video is extra's running around a corner as pyrotechnic sounds are heard and a piece of building lands in the street. After that is essentially a smoke bomb going off on top of a bus going over a curved overpass, the 7th is more of Bay prepping a scene and the last video is a slideshow of images from filming. Speaking of images, click here for another gallery images of the actors filming the body bag scene and other things.

Images and Video from Transformers 4 Car Through Bus Stunt, New Cast Pic

On Saturday, Transformers 4 filming continued in Chicago, Illinois at South Wacker Drive and West Monroe Street for a stunt that involved sending a car through a bus. As the video and great images from cmraseye show the location seems to be for events set in China as the bus is covered in Victoria's Secret models and Chinese characters as is the surrounding set pieces. The particulars of the piece show "pyro horns" set inside the bus that get ignited as the car is tossed through it. My guess is a sizable robot is doing the flinging. The second set of pictures are other images cmraseye posted but not entirely sure if they were from Saturday's filming. The last image is a new official picture posted on MichaelBay.com of the core cast of Mark Walhberg, Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor as they pose in nonsensical ways in front of an abandoned gas station. If interested in more pics from Saturday's filming, The Chicago Tribune has posted their own images here. Thanks to Jeffrey Marshall for the heads-up and Colin H. for the video and links.

Transformers 4 Roosevelt Road Scene Video

Last weekend the site was able to post fantastic pictures of Transformers 4 production was filming on Chicago's Roosevelt Road. The scene involves Mark Wahlberg and Jack Reynor running out of Bumblebee while a helicopter films it. Below is a video of the same scene before, during and after. (via TFormers)
The tall guy in the red shirt at 00:20 is Chicago Bulls basketball player Jimmy Butler. In the scene, you will see Mark Wahlberg and his co-actor Jack Reynor jumping out of Bumble Bee. It is shot by a helicopter. The white round ball in front of the helicopter is a camera. Later, at 02:13 you will see the same scene being shot close up from the ground. You will see the director Michael Bay at 02:18 [wearing all white]. After the scene, the actors hand out their microphones and leave. It is a great experience to watch how they shoot a scene. The whole movie team was very polite to people, so were the director and the actors. Can't wait to see it in the movie theater!

Transformers 4 Roosevelt Road Filming Pics

Today Transformers 4 filmed on Chicago's Roosevelt Road that involved a helicopter filming Mark Wahlberg and Jack Reynor running out of Bumblebee (2014 Camaro) as extras ran behind them. Also on the set was the Stingray, Hound and nearby was white camaro. Colin H, who took the fantastic pictures here, also reported seeing the 1st Transformers movie Bumblebee (not a fan recreation) vehicle driving towards the set. They still use those vehicles for promotional purposes so doesn't mean its in the movie.

Images from Transformers 4 Filming on Sunday

As posted Friday, filming for Transformers 4 continued in Chicago at an abandoned church located at Chestnut and Noble Roads. As these great images taken by Colin H. show, the location looks lovely, making it a little sad that the building is no longer used regularly. My guess is the filming at the Church involved only Jack Reynor while the other actors were filming at the same time in the LaSalle Street area that day. Monday and Tuesday is the cast and crew's "weekend" so have to wait and see what is coming next.

More of Transformers 4 Gunship Prop Revealed

New images from Fan-Girl.org and @NicolaPeltzInfo shows more of the Transformers 4 gun ship prop that was spotted on two other occasions. The prop invokes the the look of the crafts from Dark of the Moon is being filmed with Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor and Peltz riding in it. Not sure if that means (from a story perspective) this is a human designed craft using Cybertronian technology or just happens to be a big enough cockpit for three cause of its previous TF occupant. Transformers 4 Filming at Blue Cross Blue Shield Tower Gallery

Sunday filming for Transformers 4 continued at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Tower in Chicago. Spotted on set was Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz. As for the vehicles, in addition to two new concept cars, you had both Bumblebees (1967 Chevy Camaro SS and 2014 Chevy Concept Camaro) which makes me wonder if the transition from one to the other occurs here for whatever they are filming. For Sunday, a lot of filming was inside and outside the lobby of the building mostly with extras with some driving scenes with the Autobot fleet. The production also has the cars on display for the public to see but not touch when were not being used for various scenes. Which takes us to the gallery of images (below) thanks to Colin H. of the known Autobot fleet, Peltz & Reynor, extras and vehicle details.

Transformers 4 Warehouse Explosion Video and Set Pics from Bazaar (Update 2)

Earlier Brian K. reported that Transformers 4 production was filming at Detroit's Russell Bazaar and across the street. He has now provided more info, pictures of the cast and a video of a big pyrotechnic explosion that was set off in front of a warehouse that looks sweet live so will be amazing once Bay and his editors do their magic. My guess is the scenes being filmed are a continuation of the chase sequence shot in Taylor, Texas.

Update: Thanks to Brian we have more pictures and another video. The pictures are from this afternoon from filming with the Rally Fighter (description below). The video shows Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz and TJ Miller running from the smoking Sonic Racer.

Update 2: The warehouse location has been ID'ed as the Fisher Body Plant. To view another video of the explosions set off by "explosives hung on ropes diagonally across the front of the building" then click here.
