Just wanted to update you: Toyfare Magazine, an off shoot of Wizard, has published 2 new interviews concerning the Transformers movie. One is a lengthy one interviewing the two writters in which they explain some of the difficulties of writing a transformers script. Biggest problem: creating something new yet familiar. Second is a small side panel interview with Peter Cullen. Pretty cool stuff.
Here is a link that's discusses the 2 protoform toys(it is a toy magazine afterall): http://www.wizarduniverse.com/magazine/toyfare/002971256.cfm
Can't find anything online about the interviews. Sorry, no scanner. Guess you'll have to go and buy the March 07 issue.
How are we supposed to believe will Megatron be so strong when it looks like his puny little fingers would snap off at the first sign of a breeze... let alone a full-on brawl with Prime!! Decepticon leader mr arse... I say give the job to Rumble!
Same goes for Barricade... his fingers just look like scraps of tin-foil folded to 'look like' indexes and digits!
The 'goofy' pose might be explained by the shape of his hands... I reckon this render has been taken from a battle with Prime where there kinda playing 'peanuts' with each other... might also explain the stance of the legs.
Can't see how many games of peanuts he's gonna win with those excuses for so-called 'fingers'!!
You haters all suck, I think he looks like a bad ass. As far as the "fingers" go....get over it people, they're supposed to cut shit all to hell. Scale wise, they'll be huge.
In the later half of the G1 comic book series, the Transformers not only had teeth but cheekbones, nostrils, tongues, double chins, face wrinkles... in short, they had totally human faces. So what's the big deal about a Megatron with teeth?
doesn't Megs eat sparks in the movie, vampire style, i think thin sharp fingers would be good for piercing, it's not that bad, at least he doesn't have a mullet.
I don't mind the design so much, I just think the pose is a little goofy...
ReplyDeleteOf course, we'll have the eventually purple/grey redeco of the toy as Galvatron.
ReplyDeleteI'll be passing on this guy.
Even RID "Megatron", and he's a Megatron in name-only, looks better than this guy.
WTF?!?!

Why does Megatron need teeth?! Him being a robot 'n all... I would have thought he would have 're-charged'... rather then chow down!
ReplyDeleteOr have I missed the last few years of technology and robots do actually now ingest to survive?!
