Other random thought is the the movie soundtrack. It just occured to me that the Mars trailer made creative use of the Transformers theme, to the joy of fans. That theme has not been reprised since. Could the lawsuit from Anne Bryant be the cause? My guess is probably. The studio is already paying a composer to do the music for the the film. Why pay another composer for 20 year old work when the current one on can just devise a new one? I guess time will tell on what happens in that regard.

No News Random Post
First random post is "Wii Transform" fan made commercial that has the Nintendo "transform" throught its various incarnations up to the the Wii. Actually not bad and one Nintendo should consider stealing. Thanks to Steve G. for the heads-up.

ReplyDeleteKinda cool, TF zippo lighters. X3 I like how they open.
The theme has nothing to do with it. They still have the theme. Anne Bryant has never tried to stop them from using the theme and just because we heard about the lawsuit recently doesn't mean it's new... this has been an ongoing battle for a long time, and these things take forever anyway. If they had wanted to use the theme, they could have. And when did the Mars teaser use the theme?
ReplyDeleteat the end of the trailer, watch it again, it's right there on the left.
ReplyDeleteIf by "creative use" you mean "barely recognizable" then yes, they did use it.
ReplyDeleteHey also, found this on ebay via TFW2005:

Here's an idea for GM since they're in contract for the movie, the GPS systems that they put in the cars now, how bout a Transformers edition line that uses Peter Cullen's voice for the GPS system.
ReplyDeleteAfter catching the trailer again I can accept that they used the theme. They dragged it out so its a little hard to catch it.
ReplyDeleteThat was a good fan made commercial too.
I hate slow transformers news days. Where's the dirt?
ReplyDeleteTransformersmovie.com is updated with the movie poster Protect Destroy with the two humans in the middle. That's new.
ReplyDeleteCan't way for the new version of this commercial where the game console if replaced with a stringy spine covered cactus robot with a squinty face that looks exactly like the Shrike from the Hyperion novels from Dan Simmons.
ReplyDeleteOh, want I'm thinking of the new Megatron. :)
