Peter Cullen Confirms Sequel Plans

IESB.net is reporting that during an interview with Peter Cullen he confirmed that most of the main cast is signed for a 3 picture deal and was told by the studio to "keep next year open."

This is just more confirmation of what was already known with reports of sequel script in the works, talk of DeSanto wanting the Dinobots in a sequel and hopes of a sequel from Bay. Long story short, Dreamworks is behind this frachise is a big way so love the movie or not...there will be another to follow, probably in 2009.

  1. None of this means anything is greenlit, it's just insurance in case the movie is successful and does spawn a sequel or two. It's standard during the beginning of a TV series run, for example, for the actors to sign multi-year contracts. It doesn't mean the series is guaranteed a run of many years; the show could be canceled after the first episode. It's just the studio looking ahead.

I like the Dinobots, but I can't see how they could pull them into the movie and have that same awesome factor that they have now. If they do make them, I hope it's done just as well as the first movie.

I'd much rather see the constructicons (and more combiners?) before seeing the Dinobots, but that's because they seem to be able to fit into the 'believability' realm easer.

  4. i read somewhere online of someone's idea of how to fit grimlock in the movie...

something like this: he came to earth in the past, and he lived among dinosaurs, and he inherited their behavior. but after they went extinct, he became lonely and shut himself down, only to be discovered in the present day by paleontologists looking 4 dinosaurs... but find a giant, robotic tyrannosaurus-rex... he awakens, has rivalries wif optimus (like in G1), tensions with the autobots etc, until a turning point in which he realises that the decepticons are a bigger threat and joins forces with the autobots for the final battle

neat eh? :D Me love Grimlock!
