Transformers IMAX Starts Today

For those with an entertainment focused IMAX near you, Transformers should now be out, replacing Harry Potter 5. If you go and see it, be sure to add a comment on what you think and whether its worth the higher cost of admission for us fence sitters.

  1. If your only reason for going is to see the new footage, don't bother. It is nothing special. The descriptions in the post below are accurate. Nothing new regarding the scene with the 'bots and the 'cons.

If you want to see the movie again in an environment where the sound quality is amazing, and you want to see the scenes in incredible detail, then go. While I think the ticket price is steep ($14!) I enjoyed seeing the film again and was amazed by the picture clarity and detail. Optimus is huge!

  2. I just got home from seeing it. Beautiful, clear picture and detail with amazing sound quality - you could literally feel the sound vibrations. Everything seemed to be more logically sized in my opinion, like the All Spark & Prime are huge! The extra footage isn't really anything special, but it is good.
I thought it was excellent either way, though a little pricey ($11.50 for 13 & up). If you want to see it again and have a great experience, I recommend seeing it at the IMAX. Enjoy!

  3. I saw the 11:45 showing in my local IMAX this morning. I paid 10$ (I guess it was a matinee showing) which is what I paid when I saw it the first time in my local regular theater. One word: WOW. The sound is intense, the screen is freakin huge and amazing, and the robots look a lot better and it was a great experience overall. I'm very glad I went. The extra scenes were kinda funny too, but not a reason to see the movie again.

  4. DANG IT, they aren't even showing it on IMAX in Cleveland. Our IMAX is still showing Superman Returns. :-( I wonder how long it will be out...the closest place I can go is Columbus.

  5. I saw it at my local IMAX opening night. Auditorium was packed! Awesome show!! THe sound quality is awesome, as is the picture clarity. I know I'm just repeating what others here have said, but it's all true! Pricing might be a little high, but it's DEFINITELY worth it to see it again and in such great quality!! Hell, I'll probably go see it AGAIN next weekend :)
