New Mexico's Governor Bill Richardson has announced that Transformers II will return to the state to film for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.
The production has been prepping in Alamogordo, New Mexico since April. Its also a city that is located near Holloman Air Force Base and the White Sands Missile Range which were used as Qatar in the first film. Qatar was the location of the Blackout attack in the beginning of the film and the Scorponok attack sequence. Could this be verification that Scorponok will return? Thanks to Jeany for the link.

When will they be filming in New Mexico? How long will they be filming in Philly?
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
Yo dude,
ReplyDeleteTF die-hard fan from China, 1st of all I'd like to say thanking for making up a fictional Chinese Steel Plant (Shanghai's Baosteel maybe? I've worked there for 18 months and I know a Steel Plant is as cool as the location for 20-some feet alien robots to square off )...
AFB? Does that mean Starscream, Skywarp. Thundercracker, and the Coneheads gonna return? Cool...
Hey die-hard TF fan from China, got a question for you: judging from the production stills that were posted when the fictional Chinese Steel plant scene was shot, do you (and other Chinese Transformer fans that you know) feel that it was an authentic reproduction? Just curious. Also, as far as the neon signs, were those translations pretty accurate?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I can't wait to see the scene where the two Chinese boys walk up to the Ice Cream truck and it, shall we say, gives them a treat (based on what is on the call sheets, it sounds like a COOL sequence). I'm sure that will be a visual treat for us fans, too, and I wish I was a fly on the wall in the animation room at ILM! Can't wait to see the designs. Although, I hope that the robots that the Ice Cream Truck turn into aren't the two characters that were previously red and yellow Italian sportscars (hint, hint). We'll see. Peace.
gotta say, i do hope that the 'red and yellow italian sports cars' do not become an ice-cream truck, that'd just be arse!
ReplyDeletethinking back to the first film... does anyone recall any of the autobots transforming from 'bot back to alt mode (with the exception of bumblebee just before S7 captures him). that was one thing seriously lacking in the film as well as transformations shown from a distance, i.e. full-screen. that would make for a serious improvement as you'd get a real sense of how a truck stands up (where the legs come frome etc...) rather than just seeing that bit folding here, that part sliding there.
the decepticons were shown changing from bot to alt mode and back again often enough, starscream and blackout especially, so why not the autobots??
just a thought...
They will begin filming in new Mexico's White sands missile range june 16 and they will continue till october
