In an interview with Collider.com, Jon Voight said he will NOT be in Transformers 2, contradicting a statement that he would be from Tyrese. I guess at that point Tyrese thought he was still going to be in it but that changed as since then Voight accepted the role of the villain for season 7 of 24 which will occupy an unknown amount of his time. This begs the question of who his "replacement" will be for the purpose of access to military assets.
The interview was conducted after the 2008 Saturn Awards where Transformers won Best Special Effects. The video interview is here. Thanks to Russell for the link and post title.
The highlights:
- "I am not in Transformers 2."
- Started 24 work that day, joined the show because fan of the show and Kiefer Sutherland.
- Knocked out by the finished work on Transformers and not surprised by its success.
- Impressed by the CGI, "fantastic, just fantastic."
- Praised Michael Bay for his work, "attention to detail...impressive imagination, a great sense of humor. He's got enormous personality on the set. It gets great results, gets everyone going..."

well it really doesn't seem like they are concentrating this movie from a military stand point as much as they were the first. Sure there was bethleham but that is china, my guess is they are focusing more on the transformers than the army and more on shia and coming of age.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that the teaser poster does not have a link on this blog yet, anyone know if it's real? here's the link.

On the plus side, Jon Voight left the sequel to my favorite film of 2007 to have a major role on one of my most favorite TV shows, ever. That's coo. :)
ReplyDeletewhat's the deal with that? He is supposed to play the villain on 24, but Tony Almeda is the Villain for Next season
ReplyDeleteBay should replace him with Donald Sutherland then...

ReplyDeleteWatch the other seasons again. There's always a twist where the person who you think is the main villain is actually working for a bigger bad guy (EX: Christopher Henderson actually working for the President in Season 5, Abu Fayed working with Jack Bauer's dad in Season 6, I think, etc)...
Lol @ Samuel Jackson being the replacement..."YES THEY DESERVED TO DIE, AND I HOPE THEY BURN IN HELL!" lmao
