TF2 Teaser Poster Revisisted
The creator of the fan-made Transformers 2 teaser poster has revealed himself to be "Marobot" from the Don Murphy message boards. He says "Awe, you guys have no sense of humor XD, it was fun looking at all you guys speculating about is this poster fake or not, but as all of u already know ....both are fake and both are made by my." There you go, confirmation of what we already knew, the poster was fake. Below are both versions created by Marobot. Of the two, the second is much better. If it had been "leaked" first, I think more people would have been debating more fiercly about its legitimacy.

Damn, I think its too good to be a fake. Anyways, that picture is most likely to be a fans representation of The Fallen, cause its too evil, to twisted to be Soundwave.
ReplyDeleteI think that 2nd is real one , but when it leaked they needed to cover it up so they say it's Fan-Made.....but look at the font !! it can't be fake
ReplyDeleteDamn that poster is creepy as hell, that would be some where around the real one if u look at it.

..you can download the font, i have it on my computer.
They both look pretty shitty to me to be a real poster. There are too many talented artists out there that can blow those away. I could do something like that in about ten minutes. And I'm not trying to knock the fan that made these. For fan made, they're good. But for a multi million dollar movie, there is nothing intriguing about them. It lacks that punch that makes the viewer say, "HOLY SHIT I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THAT." The first one is too messy visually. What is that mess at the bottom? A movie poster should be clearer and more distinctive at that size. And I don't know if that is a real robot from the movie, but it looks like some dude wearing a mask and a funny hat who is looking down on an ant farm. There's no drama. There's no depth.
ReplyDeleteThe second one looks more like a studio poster, but it's pretty lame. There's nothing ominous about it. Again, there's nothing intriguing. There's three asteroids falling to the earth. Three more Decepticons? Big whoop. It's not studio made. Michael Bay is too fucking good at what he does to allow such a lame-o poster to be released.
Fans shouldn't even make posters yet until some of the digital work has been released. Then have fun and make posters.
I think the last is a transformer basher. I did not what he said. Dude, you should just step off.
ReplyDeleteAnybody agree w/me.
Uh, no those posters are craptacular. Anyone with half a brain knew it was fake from the start.
ReplyDeleteThe last guy is also a loser.
ReplyDeleteAnybody agree w/me.
Yeah I kind of thought it wasn't really. Still a very cool poster!!!
ReplyDeleteOoh btw found this on youtube kind of old news but it wasn't added till a few days ago. A new coverage on Transformers 2 when they were shooting in Bethlehem it's not much but it's interesting lol.

This is all a viral marketing tactic. The user on Don Murphy board obviously is an employee involved with the production, and behind that nickname there could be more than just one employee actually.
ReplyDeleteThey wanted to get some feedback from the public to see if that kind of promo posters would have been accepted, so they built up this little free widespread survey and now that they got their feedbacks on forums everywhere they are claiming that that was a fake.
These are basic viral marketing hype tactics..and indeed they work since almost everyone will simply believe that those posters were fan made with no question asked.

ReplyDeleteAnybody agree w/me.
No. Expecting anything but the best for Transformers is a transformers fan, not a basher.
Maybe you're the one that made the posters and your feelings were hurt.
Actualy, the guy that made this fake poster, feels very happy, and doesn't care what people think about him, cose most of them think it was a good joke. And the ones, that doesn't think it was good? You have no sense of humor at all. Or life to care more about, than for this... Jeez...
ReplyDeleteOk, first of all to the anonymous blogger thinking that just because a promotional poster with three more bots entering the atmosphere thinks that's all the more we'll see needs to get their facts checked before making Rtarded statements like that! It's been well known for about a month know that there will be a total of twenty bots in the sequel.
ReplyDeleteThe poster that was clearly a fan made piece of sh*t from the start and now of course him and some friend have been bragging about it on various internet sites claiming they have "skills", please, get a life if you think that crappy poster amounts to "skills".
Theres a difference in making a fake that people think might be real and making an announced fan piece of art. I would rather make it a known fan made art piece, than try and fool people, people seem to get pissed.
ReplyDeleteNo humor at all people... Good thing, that he doesn't care for your opinion, he got way to much fun to care. And you better get a life yourself if something like this make you soooo mad... Jeez...
ReplyDeletethey're both fake, period. Michael Bay does listen to what fans want, but not for the second one. He does it his way and once he gets a poster, it will be on the internet, no stupid leaks trying to find which will be "ok" for fans. So i wouldn't even bother until a real one is released.
ReplyDeleteeven though they are fake, the look good to me. i kind of like the tagline too.
ReplyDeleteNo. Expecting anything but the best for Transformers is a transformers fan, not a basher.

u r a loser too
u r a loser too
ReplyDeleteYour linguistic skills are simply mind blowing. Did he hit a nerve?
And the ones, that doesn't think it was good? You have no sense of humor at all. Or life to care more about, than for this... Jeez...
I don't think they were responding in a way of not having a sense of humour or a life as you put it. I think they were just sharing an opinion because some people thought the posters were still actual studio releases. Why is everybody so sensitive over this? Why so serious? Oh wait....wrong movie...
i agree too.
ReplyDeleteYour linguistic skills are simply mind blowing. Did he hit a nerve?
ReplyDeleteyou are also a loser
Sigh... Don't you have anything beter to do, than iritate people here? Like, i don' know, hang yourself? That would be realy good, for all of us...

ReplyDeleteu should go hang yourself
Like talking to 5 year old kid...
ReplyDeleteLike talking to 5 year old kid...
ReplyDeleteshove off
So the posters are real cool, but they wouldn't set the real poster out the make ones that ppl can try to get a hold of and talk about!!! And then you got the artistic fans that try to impress the fans in tricking!!! one or the another
ReplyDeletethe 1 on the left is fake, but i think the 1 on the right is real
ReplyDeleteThey are both well done
ReplyDeleteI think that the one at the right is real
ReplyDeleteJeeeeeeez, they are both fake! They were both made by the same person, user Marobot from Poland! How hard is that to understand? You realy think, that you will se a real poster, year before RotF will be in cinemas?
ReplyDeleteThey were done really well, thats for sure.
