Transformers At San Pedro (Updated)

Thanks to Gettodeath for providing the pictures below taken Saturday at San Pedro, CA where Transformers 2 was filming. They show Optimus Prime, the mysterious Ice Cream Truck, Ironhide and NEST vehicles. Gettodeath suggests that Stinger and Wheels are the two Transformers that form the ice cream truck. Since their alt modes are not even close to being verified, it’s actually a pretty good theory since both TFs are on the Bethlehem call sheet.

I am thinking the scenes being filmed are a prelude to whatever action was filmed in the interior of Bethlehem Steel. If you look at the first picture, you will notice neon Chinese signs that look very similar to signs put up at Bethlehem Steel. In the second picture, at the end of the road is a Chinese sign that looks identical to the front entrance sign that Jason took back in June, but imagine it after you drive under it and look at it from behind.

Update: Below are two additional pictures provided by Gettodeath. One is a close-up view of the ice cream truck and the second is the mysterious silver Corvette seen here and there.

  1. By the looks of all those old trucks, maybe this is where the 2 TFs choose the old ice cream truck as there car.

  2. there's 2 of them?
I see that the first picture has the ice cream swirl on top and the second one doesn't.

  3. I'm really hoping that icecream truck is just a cheap ploy to screw with us, and wont actually wind up on film in theaters.

  4. Ehhh... The Ice Cream truck are just first alt modes they will have. Later they will propably change them (like Bumblebee in first movie) and i think it will be those Chevy cars (trax and beat). I think they just landed on earth, and scaned first vechicle they saw, so no one will see them.

Either that or the ice cream truck is just a prop for the scene....maybe for comic relief, but I guess we won't know for sure until the movie comes out. I'm just having a hard time warming up to the idea that a Transformer is an old beat up funny looking ice cream truck.

  7. Their are two ice cream trcuks, but the one without the swirl is the same one with the swirl. They just drove it out of the truck and I snapped a picture before they added the swirl. The Ice Cream Truck was actually being filmed swerving through those old cars, I have an AVI of that. I have a picture of the other ice cream truck which actually looks burnt. The new Audi was the hardest one to take a picture of. I probably have a photo with it in the background. I also have a blurry picture which seems to resemble a Modified Pontiac. I will make them available ASAP.

  8. Coolbeans! My dad works down at the Port of LA (located in San Pedro), though doubt he'll be able to see any action, from the looks of it. Although I think his coworkers will probably warn him about the imminent explosions -- he works nights. :D

Ummm... IF the ice cream truck is supposed to be 2 Autobots that form one vehicle (aka the twins).....you're going to have 2 puny Jazz look alikes... the Trax and Beat... IF that rumor is true.

  13. To be frank, I feel the Corvette concept car is a bit too futuristic as compared to the other Transformers.

It reminds me of the 'black sheep of the family'.

  19. I live near the filming site I love it when there is filming in town but unfourtunately have never seen anyone famouse except for when I was like 7 we saw one of Tom Hanks first films Hooch he wasn't famous yet but I think it was about like a mastiff police dog that was filmed on tenth street -Primary colors was filmmed here too with John Travolta-and Eraser with Vanessa Williams And our Governator and the Train scene from Hancock with Will Smith plus on the shore some scenes from Pirates the black pearl was docked so close it was amazing also the Helicopter scene in the last Dye hard movie I wish i could of seen Will Farrel they made a scene from Anchor man on 6th street and a scene from Pearl Harbor at the Warner Grand Theater too! I'm pretty sure there has been more oh like gone in 60 seconds was on our Vincent Thomas Bridge and FAce Off with Nick Cage and John Travolta was done in The cabrillo bath house before it was renovated. I'ved lived here so long it's easy to recognize my town. I can't wait to see TF2 and all the ways the scenarios are played off Shia is one of my FAVORITE actors.

  20. Transformers Not Seen, But Bat Boy Spotted in San Pedro

A creature described by onlookers as half bat, half human was spotted running near the 110 off ramp at Gaffey Street, yesterday at approximately 3:40 P.M. A source reports that the creature seemed erratic and angry, and appeared to be singing with a British accent. A student from Mary Star of the Sea High School snapped a photo of the creature while walking to a 7-Eleven. “It seemed frightened and confused.” She stated. The half-naked creature disappeared into the brush near Leland Park, eluding authorities.

Experts believe that this may be the same creature that was reported on back in 1992 during an incident that occurred in Hope Falls, Virginia. During that incident, a group of spelunkers discovered a young boy with fangs and pointed ears in a cave.

Though no records exist, it is thought that the “bat-boy” was ostracized from the community when cows began to die mysteriously. The man-bat creature seen in Los Angeles’s Port Town, resembles the Hope Falls creature. In fact, officials have used age extrapolation and facial recognition software that connect both the Hope Falls creature and this current man-bat with an 89% certainty.

A San Pedro resident near the beach reported 10 nights ago hearing “bat shrieks” in her back yard. When authorities arrived, nothing out of the ordinary was found, accept a few loose peacock feathers. “Something has happened to those peacocks” she stated. “They used to always come by, and now I haven’t seen a single one in over a week!”

Authorities won’t say if the mysterious appearance of this grown up “bat-boy” is connected to the incident, but many believe that a new predator walks the streets of San Pedro, with a taste not just for cows, but for peacocks.

Early Sunday morning, before sunrise, a small pool of blood was reported in the alley behind Warner Grand Theatre near Sacred Grounds Coffee House. There were no other signs of foul play. Tests were run on the blood sample and results indicate the presence of many different types of DNA, but predominantly bat, and human. “He may be injured…” stated one authority, “…and animals are dangerous when they are injured.”

On Sunday a group of people were observed loading items into Warner Grand Theatre, one of the items was a large, steel cage. Officials are concerned that someone may be holding the creature captive inside or near the theatre. The workers stated that they were with The Relevant Stage Theatre Company and that the items being brought into the theatre were simply props and set pieces for an upcoming show. When pressed for details about the cage, a man who refused to give his name called the employees away from the officials and refused to answer any more questions.

Coincidently, according to a poster spotted in front of Warner Grand Theatre, The Relevant Stage Theatre Company will be presenting Bat Boy The Musical beginning October 9, 2008 for 8 performances. Officials are not certain whether this production has anything to do with the recent unusual sightings – but they are exploring the possibility.
