According to Bloomberg, Steven Spielberg is edging ever closer to a deal with Reliance Entertainment to take his toys and leave Paramount. However, even with the new deal some of his toys will have to remain behind including the Transformers franchise.
"Movies that Spielberg already is developing at Viacom will remain at Paramount under pre-negotiated terms that compensate the director for each project, the person said."
I don't know if this means if a Transformers 3 is produced that keeps Spielberg on as executive producer or not but for Transformers 2 nothing changes.

Transformers 3 not produced by Spielberg and that means even no Bay directing then ? Well, if that's the case then Paramount would be killing the franchise and Paramount CEO and top managers will be regarded as dumb and dumber even after the shame of the shift towards HD-DVD that had the only result to make Paramount lose billions on disc releases and be late than competitors.
ReplyDeleteBetter Paramount CEO and managers try to learn from their mistakes this time. Leave Transformers franchise to Spielberg and Bay or be hated by the viewers for killing the franchise and then Paramount would sink losing money more and more.
What is for sure is that killing the Transformers franchise would be a real financial disaster for Paramount.
I agree anon. TF3 better have spielberg and bay on, I really hope both take the franchise to the end, and be be like others franchises who producers and directors change constantely.

ReplyDeleteIf Spielberg and Bay leave the Transformers franchise, it's going to be worse what happened to the Spider-Man franchise and Greedo shooting first! 'Nuff said!
