Ozformers, via TFW2005, is reporting that the release date of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen toy line and movie has been released. For Australia, the toy line will be on stores shelves by May 31 and the movie will follow on June 25th, 2009. Once you include the 15 hour time difference gives the country about a two day jump on the United States.
This also pretty much verifies that the movie will not get a simultaneous worldwide release and instead will get a staggered release schedule. I don't know why they don't do that considering that to my knowledge the Harry Potter movies and Pirates of the Caribbean all did worldwide same day releases to clearly huge box office numbers.

ReplyDeleteThat's what being Australian is all about..(?).. then life sure sucks eh?
But back to the original topic..
Well, so it confirms that ROTF won't be released worldwide on the same day.. Doesn't really matter that much, it only matters that it'll be released close to each other, not like some movies a week apart from each other..
You mean those blokes are gonna see it before us Americans? WTF! Bay, you traitor!
ReplyDeletedude just cause your jealous of australians
ReplyDeleteI guess that mean's i'm gonna have to wait over a month again.
ReplyDeleteYES!!that means New Zealand gets it the same day oh and we are 3 hours give or take ahead of aus.Us and Australia actually get most movies first just the big ones recently we got TDTESS and their was actually a premiere of that 2 days before too!!!
ReplyDeletedo you think there's a reason for it?
ReplyDeleteYay this means new zealand gets it the same day. And they did this with transformers 1, pirates of the carribean and harry potter. What are you talking about? This isn't a staggered release at all. Its common practice with huge releases because australia and new zealands movies get released on thursdays while americas is fridays so to keep it as close as simultanenous as they can they release it the thursday.
ReplyDeleteSadly enough, U.S, Australia and New Zealand will be the last countries to see Transformers 2...Believe it or not, it's being released in Russia on 18th June 2009, followed by a whole lot of other countries in Europe.
