Inspired by the design for this film produced by Josh nizzi bay is interested in hiring more people for the third. I have a 3D design software but i need help i need a charecter here are the rules to enter the competition:
ReplyDelete1. No film robots, No girl robots and No combiners (Including sixshot)
2. No Jet alt modes
3. Prefferably a decepticon altough a tough autobot would do
4. No dinobots, No unicron
5. I need to have information on the charecter i need a link with a picture!
6. Come up with your ideal altmode for the charecter (Cant be a vechile which is not produced anymore or was used in the film)
7. You can only enter once however you may post multiple ideas on the post.
8. All competition posts must be on this section of the blog if any are anywhere else they will not be counted.
Contest closes on Friday 6th march 2009 and will be judged by the coolest ideas. I will notify the winningg Transformer and altmode on Saturday 7th march 2009. To enter the competition simply do enter the following on your post:

ReplyDeleteAutobots are few in numbers and dont have that many weapons so nothing much to add to them. Besides i dont really want a Jet mode because they have already used many planes and vehicles such as that in the film. Also Bay said all decepticons are military vehicles or figures of authority. You may enter a Autobot jet if you want to but i`m afraid i have to say it needs rockets!

ReplyDeleteBeachcomber and airazor are good choices i like the idea of airazors vechile form however it may be hard to replicate if chosen Humm maybe . . .
Anyway the only problem is that Onslaught has been released in the 2009 movie tie in toylines although this doesnt rule out his possibility of bieng in a sequel it makes him a bit difficult in designs however a great idea.

ReplyDeleteYour charecter is easier to make as a triple changer because he has 2 robot modes and only 1 vehicle mode. It is harder though modeling a triple changer with 2 vehicle modes as you need to incorporate the aspects of both vehicle modes.
I would also like to note how hard it will be to model a car robot as a jet although it would be easier than some of the stuff i heard.
I would also like to point out only 1 winning design will be chosen and that is after the votes close on friday 6th march. At the moment i am a bit short on ideas though so if you have thought of any other cool transformers please say so.

Scorpio, ok I think it is cool to make him a triple changer. I already got an idea. He is a B-2 bomber in both Autobot/Decepticon mode. but the difference now would be is that in his jet mode as a Decepticon his color will be all black but when he is an Autobot in jet mode his color will be silver.

ReplyDeleteIf i did use that idea then counterpunch would be classed as a triple changer. Although if i do choose that design on friday 7th march it will be hard to encorporate the different ways into a CGI. I have thought of a very cool way and also another good idea if i do choose this model however i must judje fairly.
Also i was thinking that Punch and Counterpunch should be mirror images of each other and that if i do design him i may make it so the B-2 Bomber becomes both Punch and Counterpunch (So you dont have to buy a toy version twice to show both versions)
Please can more people enter though i only have three/3 entries.
Yes both will use the B-2 Bomber but remember what I wrote. He will be black in color as Decepticon & dark silver as Autobot in jet mode.

Ok slight problem there are a few different versions of Hot Shot which should i base my ideas on KKB (If you win) the options are:

If you havent already entered i suggest doing so immediately as only a few people have entered so there is more chance in winning.
Scorp, I think you should contact someone who makes custom transformer toys to make the winning design. If you wanted, you could design the robot, then i could design a transformable toy, and then you could send the toy design to someone who makes custom!

ReplyDeleteGood idea. Unfortunately i am not as smart when it comes to designing realistic transformers who actually transform. However i believe i might give it a try sometime after the competition has finished. Also although i would like to see one of my designs going round the world i would like it so many people could get it rather than just someone who brought one of the custome transformers. However if i do start designing robot designs for the toy version you will be the first i tell and maybe work with if we get good designs. However we would have to pay things to hasbro for using the transformers toy`s name.

Also i promised a few tips on 3D modeling here they are:
1. Use imagination you can design anything even if it doesnt make sense as long as you like it!
2. Use mirror flip rotate and other altering tools rather than turn the item yourself.
3. Beware of adding detail as it can change the feel of your design.
4. Watermark your design if you intend to add it to the web otherwise anyone can steal your idea.

My shockwave isn't size changing. If you look at the size of that gun, I would estimate it to be between 8-12 in length, maybe more. But I think my shockwave is better than your shockwave..;)

This is gonna be a hard contest to judge! however is still need more entries

The reason is that with Transformers Animated cancelled and no more planned Transformers TV shows it looks like Transformers may face cancellation aswell (Atleast from TV)

And it truely is. I will reveal the date when i am releasing the winners identity at lunch time (Probably before 2:00 and it will include a tribute to our lord and master.
Also a bit about how i judgjed the competitio:
I checked the vechile and robot modes for the coolest and most acurate movie representation and narrowed the final contestants down to Three (3) With that done my task became harder i had to chose between the best designs. At this point i pretty much gave up trying to choose and did everything to choose a winner. When the coinflip option failed i asked a friend who knew nothing about transformers what they thought the coolest Name, Vehicle and Side was they choose the winning entry and i say i agree with there choice.
I can reveal this the Winning entry is cooler than i imagined thanks to all the hints, tips and idea`s from people on this board it has been so nice to work with you all.

It went straight from Jirachi wishmaker to rise of Darkrai :(
I am afraid my designs may take a while as my laptop had an unfortunate incident involving me,a ripped piece of floor and a stair banister. However i hope to get it fixed soon. If not i will just have to use the computer although it may take a bit longer.
I am thinking about Facemans toy suggestion however i still haven't designed the CGI model for this competition. First i will design the CGI 3D model so that Faceman can see what my style of design is. Although i am afraid i don't know anyone who makes custom transformers.

ReplyDeleteHopefully the competition winners design doesnt take too long i am estimating at least one month before it is complete however it all depends on how difficult i make the model.
I dont know how much i can reveal yet however i can tell you that there is a pretty amazing idea i have for Thrust which will add more meaning to his name! I can also reveal that my other transformer is going to be called Sharkticon!
ReplyDeleteSharkticon is unfortunately not a shark however he will have a good alt mode and is basicly the combined ideas of Both version of Sharkticon (G1 and Energon versions) and Armada Demolisher. He bears resemblance to all of these.Sorry i cant reveal the Vehicle mode yet. Top Secret! I haven't finished him yet however i can reveal some of my idea`s for his BIO:
Sharkticon is a rogue, silent and dangerous. His vehicle mode offers a perfect way of stealth. He enjoys sneaking up on the autobots and dragging them into water so he can make there death long and slow. Although he prefers this way of killing his prey he is in fact a very quick killer capable of killing any transformer even up to his evil leader megatron.
Why no more posts on this topic. P.s Scorpio i suppose your idea is good however your design had better be good otherwise there will be a lot of people who are angry about the design or you for taking up space (No offense)

Competition stuff:
To make sure my design is good i will have to remodel my original design. However due to the laptop situation i expect a minimum of 2 months so expect a full model of Thrust by June 6th 2009 and hopefully my Sharkticon design will be complete in about a month.
P.s. Has anyone heard from G-man he seems to have disappeared from the blog?
Afraid he seems to have disappeared. Probably best for you to just continue and just add his name to the list of ideas that helped you design this 3D model you said about!
ReplyDeleteLaptop is repaired. 3D work is going very fast maybe finish thrust sooner than expected. I expect my work will be almost as good as the Josh Nizzi artwork however the head will probably fail in that catagory. Thrust will be approximately three or four meters tall and i will hopefully do a small picture of him ripping through a door and clawing a wall. Well with that update done i hearby say goodbye until next update.

Thats okay G-Man the design is still in the works for the moment though :( However i hope it will be ready in a few months maximimum :)

However once again i am stuck on a bit of the design. I would like to know whether there is any elements you would like to be included into the design such as weapons or extras. E.g. Rocket launchers, Machine guns, Fuzzy dice, Etc . . .

I really don't know. I would like machine guns or flamethrowers (possible out of exhaust pipe?) and having two wheels above his head.

ReplyDeleteNow i can go about fixing them to the CGI Model. I have already done the wheel idea for you based on the original Thrust Beast machines design. Would it be okay if i had one machine gun on one arm while having a Flame thrower built into the arm with the Exhaust pipe ideas in each hand. E.g An Exhaust pipe attatched to each hand or arm with one a Machine gun the other a Flame thrower.

I have decided to make Thrust a more insane decepticon sort of like Lockdown from animated just more insane and spikey :) The more otherworldy the Decepticons look the better hopefully the face and scale doesnt ruin the model though :(
At the moment he is sort of a cross between:
Frenzy (Body and style)
Toad (Strange looking head)
Beast machines Thrust (Design and based upon him)
Yamaha Tesseract (Of course its the vehicle mode)
Army weapons rack (Seriously he is loaded with ammo)
WOW!! This is sounding really, really cool! The flamethrower-machine gun idea is great! I can't wait to se him!

Okay just to add a bit more information for you.
ReplyDeleteThrust is coming along okay but problems with computer capacity have caused me to slow project work. (Basicly the computer is running slow so it takes longer to make)
The head at the moment looks like a cross between:
A motorcycle helmet
A frog
It has riding goggles on to make him look even stranger. The main structure is almost ready and i may even upload a black outline of him soon if i can get most of the work completed the CGI Image may come soon after :)

ReplyDeleteDesign is coming along okay however it still wont be finished for a while. I have uploaded an altered picture of the CGI images of the ROTF models onto one of my acounts and when the folder becomes public i will upload it. However please note i am not an artist or film maker i am just a part time designer.
