Opening Scene for Transformers 3?

Chud.com has posted a brief description of what the opening scene to Transformers 3 could be. It could be fake as the described scene ties directly into the information revealed last month about a major plot point being the space race between the United States and the USSR as Bay said, "It ties in what we know as history growing up as kids with what really happened." We probably will not know the validity of this particular rumor until the movie is released but spoiler warning just in case. Highlight the below to read.
There’s a disturbance on the Moon. A robot shaped disturbance. Scientists on Earth see this and the information gets passed up the chain of command. In the White House men in black suits are breathlessly running through the halls, and they burst into the Oval Office. The president is behind the desk, back turned to the door, looking out the window. One of the men tells the president, 'Sir, something's happened on the Moon!' The president turns around.

It's John F. Kennedy.

Yes, the opening scene of Transformers 3 takes place in 1961 or 1962. The gist of the story has to do with the Transformers' involvement in the space race, and this is the reason why JFK was so hot to make sure America was first to the Moon. It sounds like a fun direction; there are a lot of stupid conspiracy theories about Neil Armstrong et al meeting ETs on the Moon, and this is a fun way to play with them. I hear this was Spielberg's idea, and it really does sound like something he'd come up with. If you're like me and you like the Spielberg-influenced Transformers but hate the mostly Spielberg-free Transformers 2, this is all good news.
End of description.

  3. Sounds a bit weak. A advanced transformer being discovered by our 60's tech? Please...

  4. @Jan: NASA astronauts on the Moon found alien civilitazions for sure in the '60s, despite all the lies in the last 60-70 years.
    There have been multiple interviews telling that even Hitler in the '30s already had access to UFO/aliens technology..

  5. ^ As opposed to a group of sailor's discovering Megatron in the first film??

  6. Steve should have stopped making movies about 20 years ago.. His ideas are tired...

  7. An advanced TransFormer discovered by astronauts? Cool.

    Maybe it's brought over to Earth and waits for an Autobot or Decepticon to arrive and activate it...

  8. so the first movie megatron was discovered and the USA used it to make a space rocket to the moon and other technology.
    in the third movie the USA discovers something on the moon.
    how is this all connecting to all three movies?

  9. maybe I missed it but I don't remember anything saying all three movies were tied together. I thought bay was making all of them to stand alone

  10. This is a joke. I can't believe some people are buying into this! How more vauge could this passage of writing be?! There's a "robot disturbance" on the moon and the scientists see it? Come on ffs! Although Im not ruling this out 100%. It could be the opening to the movie, but I just hope its a lot more detailed than that passage!

  11. Well, wasn't there suppost to be a base or something on the moon dealing with transformers?

  12. What about the rovers on mars in the first TF? Everyone acted as if they had no idea what was going on the whole movie. Now all the sudden we knew the whole time? So now the third movie will make Sector 7 seem like they had no place in the first movie.

    They should have used this idea for the first transformers and made a killer story. Well, I mean if any writers had half a brain to work with they could write a huge story and cut it off into movies a la Lord of the Rings. Hollywood blows.

    My only advice is to read books. Your mind will come up with greater ideas and imaginations that are interesting to yourself more than any stupid movie will.

  16. It could tie in with the first 2 movies if! they explain it right;

    Example: they find bots on the moon, then later on after its all classified and covered up the president gets assasinated, so then the astronaut that found the bots are sworn to secrecy ect.. no one finds out till the mars rover incident :D?

    this is if its true, and if it is it'll probs be a scout transformer or something like that, it cant be someone like shockwave can it? that wouldnt make much sense :S

  17. @"Anonymous 7/15/2010 6:40 PM"---It's not that Sector7 is the only hidden ghost agency... in the real world there are quite some hiding the truth in full or partially even from known agencies, governments and presidents.

  18. Who says we know everything in the first movie? There's nothing in the first movie, as far as I know, that would contradict them finding robots on the moon in the 1960s. And Sector 7 could have very well gotten involved in that.

  19. Sounds interesting if done right. Potential scenarios:

    1) The moon disturbance is Unicron (hope this is not the case). Making a transformer that size come off as believable would be a challenge. Unicron is best left to the animated TF universe.

    2) The disturbance is Omega Supreme (would be awesome. He certainly would be of a size to draw attention to himself from Earth). As in the War for Cybertron video game, Omega could also be the key to Cybertron in the movie. Shockwave has discovered this and has come to earth to activate and claim him.

    3) Who's to say that the space race between the U.S. and Russia resulted in any discoveries. Maybe they saw the disturbance, reached the moon, but couldn't find anything and gave up. They just didn't know where to look, but the transformers now know exactly where to search...

    This would allow the story lines of the movies to remain in tact:
    1) Sector 7 already knows advanced robotic life forms exist (they had Megatron in cryo);
    2) A robot disturbance on the moon is detected, so they assume it might be related to the cube and Megatron. The disturbance and potential threat must be investigated;
    3) TF technology gleaned from Megatron is used to reach the moon to find out what's going on. No TF's are found, however, and the project is decommissioned;
    4) The Beagle 2 rover encounters mechanical lifeforms, now on Mars. This time however actual evidence is captured (video);
    5) Human-TF contact is finally made on Earth;
    6) War comes to Earth and battles ensue;
    7) Information Optimus now holds, due to the merging of the matrix of leadership with his spark, reveals the truth behind TF presence on the moon and a way to save Cybertron. The Decepticons (Shockwave) also discover this knowledge somehow;
    7) A new race to the moon is started that will decide the fate of both Earth and Cybertron once and for all.

    I'm still not sure how energon (which has been rumored to be involved) and the Nefarious storyline (if at all) are supposed to tie into the movie.

    Just some wild speculation....lol

  21. Read the Prequel novel for the first book, then STFU and re-read this article. IT MAKES SENSE.

  23. To Anonymous 7/15/2010 7:48 PM:

    I kinda agree with you - and I wouldn't put it past Sector 7 to go to EXTREME (hint, hint) lengths to have kept that 61 incident quiet: let's not forget how they deliberately set up Archibald Witwicky only to silence him afterwards, to hide the truth of what they found. Maybe JFK finds out, he tells an organization like ARPRO or NICAP, someone who's a mole in said organizations informs someone in Sector 7, and then the grand coverup (and that fateful trip to Dallas) begins. . . Hmmmmm. In a round-about way, that scenario reminds me of that COOL TV show Spielberg had in the 80s called, "Amazing Stories".

  24. That would make sense, with the old-looking pre-Camaro Bumblebee in mind.
