Transformers 3 Teaser Poster? Nope (Updated)

TFormers.com has posted a possible teaser poster for Transformers: The Dark of the Moon that "Bru No" spotted at a hotel conference room. It is hard to tell if it is the real deal but includes a good look at the head of Shockwave as floats behind the image of the moon emblazed with the Decepticon logo and the tagline "Be Afraid of the Dark."

Update: Bumping up this post from 10/27/10 as to probably the surprise of no-one, the poster is a fake. Michael Bay did another one of his random drive-by on his official forums, posting, "Total fake poster. The story logline is also a misdirect." Thanks to NHLfan for the heads-up.

  2. I don't know.. Something about it seems off and something about it seems right.
Shockwave and the slogan seem about right.
The angle at which the decepticon logo and shockwave are looking seem a bit off.
    Time will tell

  3. If it's a conference room, then it's probably just an early pitch graphic (one-time use only). You know they come up with dozens of different ones to pitch, and this is probably just one of them they happen to use early in the process of finding one that sticks. The slogan is really cool, "Be Afraid of the Dark". I like that a lot. But as far as the headshot, I'm not digging it. It's too corny-looking.

  4. why aren't pics like these never full frontal..jeeze

  5. Clearly not a final version.... someone probably just took the head from the top of the pole and the moon and the decepticon logo and bamm.... a teaser poster... notice that it didnt pop up until the title was released... so someone put it together quick. And I DOUBT Michael Bay would use a phrase such as be afraid of the dark as the titles slogan lol

  6. although this probably is a proto-poster, i still just had a mini transforgasm, but i think micheal bay is corny enough to make the tagline
    "be afraid of the dark"
    though it is still cool

  7. i really like it. obviously it's not a final like everyone else is saying. but a good concept.

and man they sure made shockwave look evil.

  8. Eh, Shockwave's head doesn't look nearly detailed enough for a teaser poster. I'd expect really hard edges whereas this head looks pretty organic. Fan-made.

  9. I was in Chicago when they were filming, and the head in this poster looks very close to the Shockwave cut-out head they had attached to a window-wash pole on the set for size reference.

  10. So with the sun harvester being built on earth, I bet the fallen was kicking himself for not building the harvester on the moon befor man could travel there. He could have done all that he was going to do with the sun but from the moon, with nobody to fight him.

  11. Not bad. It kind of combines the teaser posters for the last two films (robot head overseeing planet, decepticon in darkness), but that symbol on the moon is too clean for a proper poster (remember how the con logo was portrayed in the last film's trailer? all slivers and spikes and stuff), so I'm guessing it's a fake poster.

    Still a great effort, though.

  12. Not sure about this... I personally think the Fallen teaser poster that only had his face was way cooler & darker... Even though I so *bleeping* HATE Transformers2 movie itself!!!

That is so fake. Isn't it obvious? First off, its Shockwaves face that gives it away. It does not at all, work with everything else in the poster. The moon looks more realistic and his face does not fit well in the black in the background and looks like a quick paste.

  14. Screams fake at me! shockwaves face does not fit the movie aesthetic at all, its too rounded and not at all like the bayformers we all know.

  15. here is a the real deal i think but it's cool cause it looks like from the cover of transformers storm rising comic book wirch shockwave appears in a shadow here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Rfkb_tbSlo

  16. Fake picture probably.
If you imagine to rotate the poster, the image is completely lopsided(the Decepticon logo are simply paste in,and the head of Shockwave is a little to much on the left)

  17. Shockwave's face looks like a vagina

  18. Oh... this might explain it. The scooper is Bru No, right? Guess who the TF3 concept artist is: Bruno Werneck...

  19. The head doesnt look the same as the version we saw on the stick. If this is real then i`m intrigued by the red on the moon, its not caused by shockwave`s eye glare...

Also, tbh, "Be Afraid of the Dark" has been used too many times, so i`m really hopeing they`ll atleast change the slogan.

Last thing, if it is real, Shockwaves horn things are too curved for my likeing, they remind me of unicron...

  20. interesting to note, TFW2005 shut down the threads for this earlier.... though, from what i can find out, it's simply down to a Mod's view that it's fake, and not any real proof

  21. Its not fucking fake, its just an early design, thier not going to release it to the public but it isnt fan made.

  22. I find the tagline amusing.

    Be Afraid Of The Dark.

  23. the tag line...i like it...the shot of Shockwave...not so much. The G1 cartoon looked so much better. He looked more like the Sgt who leads the men into battle in G1 and this he kinda looks like I don't know. maybe some little bitch boy? haha i dunno, i'm still trying to learn about G1. Which i love btw.

  24. This poster looks about as real as my tits.

  25. Well Im sure their going to use the design that the "head stick" had cause thats what they only have at this point. Designs are still being made so it def couldnt be final. When something is being used early (a product of some sort) it tends to look so "un-cool" I.E. that dam PSP Phone, so I see this as being legit as a early teaser but nothing final. Movie still comes out in 9 months people so stop assuming they have everything done for this movie!

  26. Everyone has tits.

Yours are just smaller than Arcee's tits.

Wait, does Arcee have tits? Do the nasty aliens on the Dark Side of the Moon have tits?

    Inquiring minds wanna know!

  27. I confronted the mod @ TFW about shutting the thread down. He provided no proof and failed to provide it when I asked for it. All he said was that "he knew" it was fake. Even if it turns out to be fake, still no proof, it could have still been discussed for it's design, but you know, mod know all and don't dare cross them.

  28. Paramount obviously owns TFW more or less and told them to censor any discussion on the subject hence the thread got deleted

  29. Seems fake, but I like the dark feeling of the poster. Also, I guess I'm only that doesn't want that tagline. There is a movie call Don't Be Afraid of the Dark produced by Guillermo Del Toro next year, so I think it is not a good idea to have that tagline.

  30. That better be fake. Or else all nerd rage will ensue.

  31. I LOLed at the "hard to tell if it's the real deal" part of the intro. I knew it was fake at first glance. and I'm an amateur.

  32. I'm thinking fake. Shockwaves ear parts look like they're from Nolan's Batman, the cheeks seem to be an edited part of Megatron and the overall face looks too round. Also the moon picture you can get thousands of Google, as well as the Decepticon logo.

  33. Liking the old school Optimus as seen on the ET post. Must be some time travel going on in the movie for Optimus and Bee.

  34. Everyone who thought it was real, hang your heads in shame

    ReplyDelete
  35. thank god this isnt real because it looks lame, shockwave; really? ''be afraid of the dark'' REALLY??!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Assuming that it really is a misdirect... What exactly is it suppose to mislead us about? That it has no shockwave? That it has nothing to do with a moon at all? Big deal!
