Take A Transformers Nostalgia Trip Via Streaming and 15th Anniversary of Bay's Transformers

If looking for a chance to take a trip down Transformers memory lane (or introduce the world of Transformers to next generation), Fathom Events and Pluto TV might have you covered (at least in the States).

Fathom Events has announced ther first Michael Bay Transformers movie is returning to cinemas for its 15th Anniversary (yep I am feeling old too). The movie will screen in selete theatres around the US on Sunday July 10th and Thursday July 14th. To see if available near you, head over to Fathom Events.

On the streaming front, Pluto TV has created the Transformers TV streaming channel. The streaming channel is free to watch but does have commercials and sort of acts like a TV channel as in it has a own schedule which you can click to and watch whatever it has on at that time. Currently the Transformers channel is airing episodes of Transformers: Bumblebee Cyberverse Adventures, Transformers: Prime, and Transformers: Robots In Disguise. The press release does not mention Generation 1, Beast Wars, and other series will join the channel but the On Demand portion does have some seasons. As for those wondering about movie news, got nada. Hopefully meaningful info will start coming out by years end as Paramount begins its campaign to raise awareness of another movie.

Transformers - War for Cybertron: Siege Available Now

Quick friendly reminder that Transformers - War for Cybertron: Seige is now available on Netflix. The six episode season is an average of 22 minutes each and by Transformers cartoon standards pretty ambitious. Also pretty amazing looking execution of the toy line into animation, something not really seen before in the cartoons. To view the series in your browser (assuming you have a Netflix login), click here.

Transformers: Cyberverse Season 1 Playlist, Season 2 Trailer

With season 2 coming to the Cartoon Network soon, figured its a good time for those that missed out on Season 1 to catch-up. The first video is Hasbro's playlist for the season while the video is the trailer for season 2. Season 1 is 18 episodes, each around 11 minutes long. Overall despite being short episodes, the series was pretty good with most of the story focused on Windblade and Bumblebee suffering from amnesia as they attempt to find the rest of the Autobots before the Decepticons do.

Transformers: Cyberverse Trailer, Premiere Date

Via Entertainment Weekly, here is first official trailer for Transformers: Cyberverse. In addition the site has revealed the premiere date for the show will be September 1 on the Cartoon Network. The first episode will also premiere on the CN app starting Monday, August 27.
“When we were designing the look and feel of Transformers: Cyberverse, we were inspired by the classic clean appearance of the original G1-style,” Tom Warner, Senior VP for the Transformers franchise at Hasbro, which is producing the series. “This was the design we initially fell in love with in the ‘80s and it felt like the perfect fit for this new origin story.”

Bumblebee is on a critical mission, but his memory chips are damaged and he has to recover details of his past experiences on Cybertron.

Only by uncovering his actions on his mechanical homeworld can he figure out what his purpose is on Earth. Meanwhile, the Decepticons are also closing in on him.

The show features Jeremy Levy as the voice of Bumblebee, and Jake Tillman as Optimus Prime. Ryan Andes voices the dinobot Grimlock, while Sophia Isabella is Windblade, who is helping Bumblebee unlock his damaged memory bank.

On the side of the bad guys, Marc Thopson voices megalomaniacal Megatron, Billy Bob Thompson is the duplicitous jet Starscream, Andes pulls double-duty as cyclopian Shockwave, and Deanna McGovern is Shadowstriker.

Transformers: The Movie Complete Storyboard

If you are a fan of Transformers: The Movie from 1986, you may find the website TF Raw interesting. The blog has managed to collect the entire storyboard for the movie with around 1600 hand drawn images and notes. Due to how animation was done then, the storyboards are actually very details as they were often used as the "animation" of the movie before the actual work was done to save time and money. If anything it makes for a walk down memory lane. Besides breaking the storyboards into sections, if go to bottom of post you can also download the PDF and CBR versions of the file. The storyboard set can be found here. (via All Spark)

Power of the Primes Cartoon Home Shutting Down

Verizon has announced that their go90 streaming platform will shut down on July 30, 2018. In the United States the platform was the home to the Prime Trilogy of computer animated cartoons from Machinima. The final episode of the cartoon series airs next week so fans will have a fairly short window to see the end of the trilogy. Verizon didn't indicate what will happen with their content once the service shuts down but I wouldn't be surprised if a significant chunk of it winds up on YouTube. The main takeaway from US Transformers fans is if you want to check out the Prime Trilogy, you only have a month to do it..
