Someone at the Sydney screening wrote down the names of the voices for all the Transformers in the movie. My understanding is "voice" might be a reach in some cases with some characters at most only getting a few lines. Thanks to Maximus and other site readers for the list. The links with each name may help with some "who is that?" questions.
Optimus Prime: Peter Cullen - The one and only
Megatron: Hugo Weaving - If don't know, doesn't really matter
Bumblebee: Mark Ryan
Ironhide: Jess Harnell - Lots of roles, but learning he was the voice of Wakko in the Animaniacs is pretty cool
Barricade: Jess Harnell
Ratchet: Robert Foxworth - One of those actors that is the unrecognized grease that keeps the industry wheel going. Not famous, but a face you go "hmm he looks familiar, what have I seen him in?"
Bonecrusher: Jimmie Wood - Beats me
Jazz: Darius McCrary - Ditto
Starscream: Charlie Adler - Voice of "Optimatus" in Loonatics Unleashed
Frenzy: Reno Wilson - Another one of those familiar but unknown face.

ReplyDeleteApparently Keith David is only for the video game, which really doesn't matter to me, but I'm very curious to know just how the voice of Wakko Warner will sound on Transformers...but I shall admit he is a very talented voice actor.
ReplyDeleteWasn't Frank Welker confirmed to be in the movie, as you reported in a previous blog posting? I know he's not going to be Megatron, and evidently not Starscream either.
ReplyDeleteCharlie Adler Voice will fit Starscream very well, he has an evil voice.. i like indeed, the rest of the voices are very good to.

ReplyDeleteNope, there was never any confirmation of this. It was merely fan speculation.
Charlie Adler will hopfully have that classic Starscream sound, Transformers Armada and so on made him sound like a teenager of some sort, I wasn't best pleased.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! Eddie Winslow is Jazz. I think they picked an awesome guy. People were talking about how they wanted Will Smith...bla. Will Smith sounds like Will Smith and that would make it horrible. I feel even more confident about the movie now.
ReplyDeleteRobert Foxworth is a long-time character actor. Used to be married to the original "Samantha" in Bewitched--Elizabeth Montgomery. Jess Harnell is also on NASCAR.com's "Kellys" animated series.
