The image, assuming inspired by movie plans, does look pretty awesome. The source is unknown so unable to confirm if its officially related to Transformers: Age of Extinction or just creative fan art. Thanks to Feris O. for the heads-up.

ReplyDeleteGuys, I have some news. I just found out a close friend of mine got a 'minor' role to do a voice over for a few characters. This is exactly what he said he will be doing, "Grunts, noises and minor lines here and there for Vehicons or something and two unnamed Autobot soldiers."
This sort of makes sense, there were many Chevy Trax's and a lot of other super cars seen throughout the filming in Hong Kong and China.
I wish that the Mclaren MP4 is Sun Streaker if its an Autobot.

DeletePartly, I do think it has something to do with the blue lights, but also I think it is do with it being a Freightliner Truck. If I remember correctly, in the G1 Cartoons, Ultra Magnus had two Freightliner alternate modes, the Freightliner Car carrier Truck and the Freightliner Cab over (which is the one we have been seeing on set). What really stands out though, is that Bay seems to match the protagonist G1 characters alt modes to his movies. Optimus Prime and Ironhide (apart from his red color, which was due to camera issues) are the best examples.
But again, the Argosy Cab-Over could still be a Decepticon, but I can tell you it will NOT be Megatron.
Knowing Bay, Grimlock won't have a robot mode. I just have this feeling.... but I could be wrong.

About light colors of Freightliner, we only saw in photo uploaded in Bay's blog. But I never saw its lights on while shootings. We can't assume that as a proof of it being an Autobot.

DeleteI completely agree with you about being tired of Optimus and Bumblebee. I love Optimus as much as the next guy but its time for some new bots. Rodimus gets unfair criticism. I don't know if you guys remember but the G1 cartoons were pretty silly. The 86 movie had much more serious tone and was probably the best Transformers story to ever come out of G1. Did Hasbro overdue it by killing to many characters. Yes. Personally I think that they should have just shuffled the cast around with different missions like the GI Joes. But back to my point. For all of the people who hate on Rodimus I hope that they realize his presence is felt a lot in the Michael bay movies. Bay basically just split the character in two and made him Optimus and Bumblebee. Optimus took his flames and Bumblebee stole his whole persona. Don't believe me. Go back and rewatch old G1 cartoons. Bumblebee back then bears noooooooo resemblance to the Bumblebee of now. Only thing they have in common is that they are both yellow.

DeleteI Agree Bee sucks in G1 the only reason why most people gives rodimus unfair criticism its because they blame him for getting in the way and got Optimus killed but in my opinion I always ask my self even if hotrod didnt get in the way will Optimus pull the trigger b4 Megatron can shoot him and take advantage his compassion? I think his biggest mistake is that he give Megatron a chance to Beg for Mercy. Well anyway what the hell I just wish that if Rodimus is in the live action movie Bay should turn him into an awsome character that will surpassed Bees persona.

And Joseph are you saying in real life that youre so cold that you would kill without a second thought? Thats not who Optimus was. Optimus was always known for his compassion in EVERY continuity. Him allowing Megatron his "last words" was no mistake. Prime was ready to pull the trigger. You know.. I get it... You loved Hot Rod so much that he could do no wrong in your eyes. But point blank... The mistake still lies with Hot Rod. Whether you choose to see that or remain blind is up to you. Fact is, a hero will always hear his rival/nemesis out before he ends him, in almost every story even beyond the transformers. You do NOT interupt a throw down between 2 bitter rivals looking to end their struggle once and for all. Hot Rod broke that rule and afterwards it began to change him even before gaining the matrix. He began "transforming" from young fun loving autobot to serious I have to redeem myself autobot. I loved Hot Rod myself but I will never allow my love for this promising character force me to overlook the truth. Do I blame Hot Rod for Optimus's death? No... Hasbro made a bad call and paid for it. In newer continuities Rodimus and Optimus coexist. This is the best possible angle to take without angering either side.

Realize that it was Optimus's compassion that made the High Council choose him as a Prime in the first place. You pointing to what you would do isnt really relevant. You're not Optimus Prime. Point being 2 different people would handle various situations in various ways. Prime always gets to a point where he sees he needs to kill Megatron. At that moment, I am positive that if things had played out minus hot rod dashing in... Megatron would have died. Again I don't say that to blame hotrod. You people are lucky these cornball transformers are even in the movie. I was hoping and praying the Dinobots never made it to the big screen. Hopefully Bay can make them cool and not corny like they were in the cartoons. I can care less about the designs. I'm actually worried about this writer Kruger he hasn't wrote a good flowing story yet. He hasn't done the characters any justice in his stories. Soundwave, Starscream, Ratchet, and Shockwave were all done terribly wrong. Soundwave doesn't take orders from humans, Starscream hates Megatron, Ratchet is a freaking medic first before anything else, and Shockwave is a scientist. He is sort of the decepticon version of Ratchet not some mindless killer who doesn't even speak full sentences. How can you mess that up? I hate that Bay didn't get a whole new writer this time around.

Delete@Josh: No worries. My source has revealed the Bugatti is definitely 'Drift' and the C7 Corvette Stingray is **Slingshot. (I put asterix's on him because the name is not owned by Hasbro. I think Hasbro is trying to gain access to that name and 'Crosshairs' is going to be a back up name.) The Sonic RS is apparently going to be a random Transformer, which will play a minor subplot in the movie and will be killed off. What is weird is that my source revealed the Sonic RS could be 'Crosshairs'.
Overall, I think Bay has NOT made up his mind on the names of some MINOR Transformers.

I had a feeling the sonic would be a minor character that bay just gives a random name to. I'm fine with that though. I've enjoyed watching them put this movie together. Any idea when we might get some official name reveals?

They get alt modes accoding to their size. Am I correct? Being that I work in retail, I can tell this picture was taken in some kind of store. This picture is nothing more than a fan having fun with that ridiculous rumor that Prime and Bee will be riding Dinobots.

DeleteI just read an article here: http://dlvr.it/4Hzs46 that speaks about that leaked video of Prime talking to Cade. They seem to think it's possible that Prime dies. However, in that video (if it's legit), Prime says he's going to hide something where it won't be found. My feeling is that Prime leaves the Bots to go into seclusion off planet somewhere. Whether he dies or leaves, either situation would give viability to the Pagani possibly being Hot Rod and/or the Argosy being Ultra Magnus. Prime would never leave the Bots without someone to lead them.
ReplyDeleteAre you certain that Bumblebee for example would not be a good candinate.? Think about TF:Prime version of Bumblebee in Predacons Rising. I don't believe at all that Bay would let Magnus or Rodimus appear in this film.
DeleteWhile I think Bee would make a solid leader, If Optimus intends on leaving long-term, I see him leaving another Prime (or Magnus) in charge of the Autobots. I know at the end of Predacons Rising, Prime said each of the Bots had shown individual leadership skills, and it was Bee who stepped forward to reassure Optimus that they would be fine and carry on. However, Bee is supposedly quite young in terms of being a leader. Having a more experienced Bot, like Magnus, as a guide would be beneficial to him. I think Bee could become a fine leader with a little guidance from an experienced Bot.
DeleteI also think if Rodimus IS in the movie, he could ALSO benefit from a more experienced Bot. If you remember, in TF Prime, Smokescreen was told by Optimus that he would be the next Prime. Smokey needed the guidance of the more experienced Bots in order to learn and grow. While the line of Primes ended with Optimus' sacrifice, that role of leadership seemed to have been passed on to the younger Bots, but with the experienced Bots still there to help guide them.

ReplyDeleteI completely agree. Bay has let a few things slip through the cracks over the last three, but I have a feeling he is gonna blow the doors off with this one. There are so many directions the story line can go in this one. I grew up in the 80s and was a diehard Transformers fan and looking back watching the old cartoons now, well, it looks kinda cheesy. Lol. Bay has taken Transformers to a new level. He has my two thumbs up. Can't wait! Just under 8 months away!
ReplyDeleteNo matter whether this is real or not, I have no doubt that the new Prime and ESPECIALLY the Dinobots will look cool as hell AOE. I'm so much more excited to see AOE than I was to see the past three... Like I said earlier... The battle on Cybertron and the battle in Chicago showed me first hand how kick @ss Bay could make these movies if he wanted. The only time I was truly let down by bay was when i saw how he made JETFIRE look in ROTF... Jetfire was one of my favorites from the 80's and he made him look terrible.

Dudemus:I didn't like the way JF looked myself, but I understood why he may look that way. He was on Earth since the primes first discovered it without Energon so he basically became rusted and old. I didn't like that though, but again I understood.
DeleteThere's nothing in the dialog up of that scene that implies that Prime dies - to me, iMHO, Prime will go into hiding since he's a wanted "man". We'll see come 7 months & some change.
ReplyDeleteI think Grimlock looks kinda cool and DAY his robot mode will be HUGE!!!! It's no surprise to me that Bay is going the Autobots-riding-Dinobots-into-battle angle: it's kind of a ancient warrior riding a horse into battle vibe for me, just like the justification behind movie Shockwave appearance. I'm cautiously optimistic, but can't wait to see the finished effects -especially in the scenes filmed in Detroit, Hong Kong, & China, like the scene where the El Train falls off the track.
In closing, I kinda miss the window pecs on Prime, but it's not the 1st time Prime has been w/out them: Armada Prime didn't have them either. I may design my own version of AOE Prime. Thanks again, tfw2005, and for all you guys & gals who have filled us in on what's going on. Over & Out.

So I had to stop in at my local Walmart to pick up some hamburger buns today. Figured I'd cruise past the movie section and pick up Predacons Rising. Lo and behold, there was a coupon on it for 5 dollars off a Transformers figure. I just HAD to honor that coupon, so I walked over to the toys section and finally bought Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Smokescreen. So now my brand new collection is up to 9 figures. Next on my list: Bluestreak, pre-order Sideswipe, Thundercraker,Knockout and Ratchet.

DeleteDudemus:well guys, there is a raginronin addition. He stated that there was a leak of the characters given by some chinese source that found itself in the local newspapers. It had animated pictures of the characters robot mode next to the real vehicles (alt mode) it said the Pugani is Rodimus Prime, the Agrosy is Motormaster, etc. However they could be wrong so I will take this with a grain of salt. Now I have to admit that I have always since the beginning thought that the Pugani was Rodimus Prime/Hotrod but before I stamp and seal this opinion of my own I will still wait for definitive proof. That being MikeB and staff or Paramount. It does make for good topic discussion.

ReplyDeleteI agree. I'll see the movie regardless even if they told exactly what it was about. I feel that's the way most people are. I guess they want to keep it under wraps because guessing what's happening and what transformers are in it gives us something to do other than just wait impatiently. However, I think telling the names is a fairly small detail when you look at the big picture.

Wich could be the real deal, if it was the real script, you spoiled yourself already in a major way. Then everthing what happens in the movie, you will have a feeling that you already knew everything that happened.
DeleteMaybe and hopefully you already forgot most of it. With DOTM I accidently read some of the pre-movie comic that was leaked and I was mad that I read that Ironhide got killed by Sentinel. Luckily the movie was thát exciting, I totally forgot about it.

It would be great if Bay would keep to the Bots cannon colors. I can understand having to change up the red Bots because red is hard to get right onscreen, but sheesh. The Bugatti's colors would match up more with Blurr. The white Camaro would match up more with Drift. There could be red/black and gold/yellow Lambos for the REAL Twins.The Pagani would be Roddy and the Argosy would be Magnus.

Yes people, I did do some minor work with Bay here and there, back at Monument Valley and Detroit. By now, you guys know I am also a massive Transformers fan myself.
The reason I am telling you this is because i am flying back to America soon, to help Bay with his post production stage, so this is going to be my last post for a while.
Just to briefly answer some of your questions, MOST of the characters names are G1 related, some of the characters will be surprising and apparently according to my source, the C7 Corvette Stingray and the Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse have "KICK-ASS" robot modes!!

Oh to see a little "Jet Judo". Those cartoon scenes never fail to make me smile. On a more serious note, I really wish Bay hadn't killed off Jazz and Hide. Could you imagine those two teaming up with Prowl, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker and Mirage in a big screen battle with the Cons? I'd pay good money just to see THAT scene.
ReplyDeleteI also was very sad that Jazz got killed, but I think that is a good. You need some sort of drama in a movie. When a major character gets killed, that brings impact.
DeleteA movie needs good drama or it won't have any impact. I was also even more upset that Ironhide got killed, but in the end I think it was a good decision by Kruger and Bay. It has so much impact, that's a good thing for the movie and the storytelling.

DeleteI would cry long tears of Joy if they offed that Hot Rod/Rodimus rip off. Bumblebee was always a second rate afterthought character. The only reason why he is so popular is because bay completely ignored the characters essence and tried to make him cool and edgy. Transformers will survive without him. They'll just make another young fun character. Optimus on the other hand needs to stay. Hasbro has killed him almost as much as south park kills kenny just to keep bringing him back.

DeleteI got that Bee's a Rodimus rip off because his new Baytastic make over. Optimus stole his flames and BB took his entire perosna. BB in the movies and to a lesser extent in TF prime are nothing like who he was when he was created in the G1 cartoon. He went from being an unassuming vols wagon that was super nice and constantly got his butt handed to him to being a bad ass cocky camaro that tears through decepticons like paper (still mad about soundwave.) and literally pisses on people. He lost all that made him who he was. I think that Fall of Cybertron and the IDW comics especially nailed Bees character. The movies completely missed the mark in my opinion. And I feel as ifSmokescreen in TF prime was just a repainted hot rod as well. However I will still take him over Bee. Lol But you should give the comics a try. If you like Bee you'll love Robots in Disguise.
DeleteWe'll just have to agree to disagree on Bee. I don't see any of Roddy's persona in him. It's understandable that Bee would be more badass in Bay's movies, then in TF Prime by extension. Bee is suppose to represent the youth of the Bots. He's the one that younger fans can relate to. He's still super friendly. He relates very well with both the humans and his fellow Bots. He shows that you can be young and friendly but still be strong physically and in character. Even in TF Prime, he shows that you can be young but still overcome any type of disability (his inability to speak) and be just as physically and mentally capable as those around you. That's why he appeals to so many fans, both new and old.

He also shows that you can be one the youngest but still overcome disabilities and have physical and mental strength. DeleteAgreed. Different opinions on Characters is why they have different characters. Everyone has different favorites. I remember growing up I loved hot rod and my older brother hated him. He's an optimus guy. I just wish that Hasbro used other characters every once in a while. Its Transformers not the Bee an optimus show. They have hundreds od characters to shuffle around. I hope the next cartoon uses that formula. Its not fare to the other fans ya know. But good conversation. Its a breat of fresh air to discuss a difference of opinion and still be civil. I think crosshairs is a cover name and I dont think we will see rodimus this time around. No way on kup, and if we only got 3 dinobots I would think slug over snarl. The rest can go either way I guess.
ReplyDeleteI do think the Pagani is an Autobot. I also have a feeling the Lambo is a Bot, too. I still am of the opinion that the Bugatti is better suited for Blurr. I do think Sideswipe is in the movie and is more than likely the Vette (tho, he SHOULD be a Lambo).Of course, I wouldn't mind the Pagani turning out to be Sideswipe. I also think Ratchet is probably in the movie too. I do also believe that this movie will lead up to the introduction of Unicron.
ReplyDeleteThe bugatti is suited for Blurr, but thats not who it will be. If sideswipe makes an appearance I dont think he will have a car mode at all. Like Ironhide44 has said, you guys will be surprised at who the bugatti and corvette really are. I think the pagani, Lamborghini, and Freightliner are all cons, but not 100% sure yet
ReplyDeleteAs everyone on here is, we are all entitled to our opinions. However, that's all they are. Nobody is definatively right or wrong. There's nothing sayong that the Bugatti couldn't be Blurr or Prowl. Nothing saying Sideswipe isn't in the movie or doesn't have a solid part to play. As for the Pagani, Lambo and Argosy, they were all photographed and filmed riding with the other known Autobots at different times. Does that automatically make them Bots? No, it doesn't. However, it presents a strong arguement that they could be. My personal opinion is that there are 2 teams of Bots. One team goes after the relics, while the other team goes after the Dinobots.
DeleteI have to disagree. I think the Pagani, and Freightliner are definetly bots. The freightliner was seen with Optimus on more than one occasion. The pagani was seen with the bots. And when the Pagani was with the Freightliner and other super cars they were driving toward something that people were running away from, which seems kinda heroic if you ask me. The people who think they are cons are still wishing for the stunticons and I really don't think that's going to happen. I strongly believe they are the second group of bots. Pagani = Rodimus, Freightliner = Ultra Magnus, White car = Wheel Jack, Orange McLaren = Sunstreaker, Garbage Truck Wreck Gar, Bulkhead or Kup. As for the Lambo. I don't know. That can go either way. If a bot I'm going to guess Prowl. If a Con then Lockdown.

Though I would prefer if they were Blurr and Springer thanks to their colors. But as we all know, in the bayverse colors mean nothing unless your Optimus or Bee.
